Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay celebrated with the employees of the Metropolitan Municipality and KOSKİ General Directorate on the first working day after returning from Eid al-Fitr.
MAYOR ALTAY CONDEMNED ISRAEL ONCE AGAIN
Pointing out that what happened in Gaza caused deep pain for everyone, Mayor Altay said, “Unfortunately, the oppression in Ramadan continued uninterruptedly during the Eid. From here we are once again blaming the cruel Israel, the genocidal Israel. "We hope that the lives of our brothers in Gaza will return to normal as soon as possible, that they can return to their homeland, and that the oppression against them will end as soon as possible," he said.

Referring to the local elections held on March 31, Mayor Altay continued his speech as follows: “We carried out a local election process together. We have been working together for 6 years. Especially since the 2019 elections, we have provided very important services together in our city with the understanding of 'Konya Model Municipality'. We worked day and night to make Konya's dreams come true, one by one, and we achieved very important successes. While we are carrying out Turkey's largest revival project, especially under the Old Industry and Karatay Industry transformation, Heavy Maintenance, Armory transformation and Darülmülk Project, we have also implemented many important projects in our 28 rural districts, from infrastructure to superstructure, from social life to works related to our youth and women. Finally, the elections were held and we received support from the people of Konya to rule Konya together for another 5 years. Now we need to write a new success story together. Konya's responsibility has always been very high, but we need to achieve much higher success this term. We will live together for 5 years in which all eyes will be on us due to our position as the largest metropolitan and provincial municipality of the People's Alliance, which is currently represented by our President. We do not have the luxury of making mistakes, we will work harder, we will strive harder and by developing our understanding of 'Konya Model Municipality', we will create a municipality model that will be an example for the whole of Turkey."

Stating that he believes that the entire Metropolitan team has the power, motivation and culture of working together to do this in the best way, Mayor Altay said, "Therefore, these 5 years have been a year in which we have run from success to success, where the whole of Turkey has come to know the 'Konya Model Municipality' understanding more closely, and where social and cultural I wholeheartedly believe that it will be a successful period in which we complete our unfinished work and continue the work we promised to develop our city with these activities. Hopefully, during this period, we will carry out the works related to the revival of our city, especially the construction of 105 kilometers of rail system lines, which we have provided in terms of transportation, and the Darülmülk Project. If there is a success in Konya today, if there is a local government success in Konya, all of our colleagues, whether in this hall or not, have great efforts and contributions. Hopefully, we will all witness this continuing to increase in the next 5 years. We have the power to achieve this with the experience we have gained, your knowledge and Konya's corporate structure. I believe in this. Hopefully we will achieve success together in this period. I would also like to express that; No one should have any concerns or doubts that we will use the opportunities we have for the development and branding of our city, while also increasing the welfare and income level of our employees.
