Mayor Dr. was elected Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor by the will of the nation in the Local Elections of 31 March 2024. After 5 years full of service and investment in the Metropolitan Municipality, Memduh Büyükkılıç will continue to provide many services from culture and arts, sports, agriculture and animal husbandry to transportation in the new 5 years.

In this context, Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that they will continue to protect history and tourism in Kayseri, which acts as a bridge from the past to the future with its historical and cultural past, for the next 5 years and said, “We have entered the new period of our journey to serve Kayseri. As always, we will draw a vision that suits us for the upcoming service period. "In addition to our exemplary urban planning services, our work will continue in the future, from culture and arts, sports, agriculture and animal husbandry to transportation, within the scope of many services and projects we carry out in our city," he said.

Büyükkılıç emphasized that Kayseri is one of the important centers of tourism and history and said:

“We carry out many restoration works in this context in places where the historical textures of our Kayseri are dense. We will continue in the new period the works carried out at St. George Church in Soğanlı Valley and the restoration works carried out by our Metropolitan Municipality in Tavukçu District to reveal the texture of the Historical Kayseri District, where the old Kayseri is revitalized. There are also studies where we bring our values ​​to light more. We are reviving the Red Mansion in Billur Bağları, which dates back to the reign of Alaaddin Keykubat I of the Anatolian Seljuk State, and restoration work continues.
