Support for Breeders in Bursa

The Metropolitan Municipality, which supports farmers in Bursa in many areas, from the supply of seedlings and saplings to ensuring quality production, from equipment support to the sales and marketing of products, continues its support at full speed to increase quality production in agriculture. 192 tons of barley collected from the Turkish Grain Board upon the request of 567 producers in Keles district were brought to the processing factory in Bursa at the end of the process carried out in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Sheep-Goat Breeders Association, Bursa Province Livestock Development Association (HAGEL) and Tarım Peyzaj AŞ. The cost incurred for cleaning, sifting, turning the barley into feed, bagging it and transporting it to the producer at the factory was undertaken by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. The feed brought to Keles district was delivered to the producers with a ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they served 17 districts and 1060 neighborhoods in unity and solidarity. Stating that they have given many supports to Keles in the field of agriculture and that they will continue to increase them in the new period, Mayor Aktaş said, “We have a strong pen in our hands like Tarım AŞ. He did not like the candidate of another party, Tarım AŞ. He said, 'I will close it down and return it to its original function.' Tarım AŞ, which had 97 employees and a turnover of 17 million when I took office, made a turnover of nearly 2 billion last year and has nearly 1500 employees. We built drinking water lines and ponds here. We will complete the shortcomings. We care about rural producers. Bursa is also an agricultural city. We will have much greater support in the new period. We supported our Kelesli farmers with a total of approximately 900 thousand seedlings and saplings, especially strawberries, raspberries, vines, almonds, walnuts, cherries and blueberries. We also distributed a total of 9 tons of seeds as support for vetch, buckwheat and einkorn wheat. We also provided small livestock support to our breeders. We have strengthened the technological infrastructure of our farmers, from beehives to tomato paste machines to mulch material in the distillation unit. "Within the scope of geographical indication studies, we received geographical indication certificates for black cumin oil, Keles cherry and sorrel cheese," he said.

Stating that milk purchases continue through Besaş, Mayor Aktaş explained that they also provide feed support to small cattle producers. Stating that Bursa is among the important production centers in Turkey with the breeding of 400 thousand breeding sheep and goats, Mayor Aktaş said, “As Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, we aim to minimize input costs in agricultural activities, to encourage our producers, to work for correct agriculture, safe food and sustainable production.” We are always with our farmers. In this regard, 192 tons of barley was collected from TMO to be given to the union members in line with the request of 567 producers. The barley had to be brought from Bandırma to the processing factory in Mudanya Orhaniye with Bandırma Transporters Cooperative trucks and undergo some processes. At this point, we stepped in and undertook the cost of the process and eased the financial burden on our producers. In cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Sheep-Goat Breeders Association, Hagel and Tarım Peyzaj AŞ, we undertook the cost of cleaning, sifting, turning into feed, bagging and transporting the barley brought to the processing factory in Bursa to the producer. We provided support of 1.100 TL per ton. In other words, we contributed around 192 thousand TL in total to our 700 producers. "I hope our support will be beneficial and fruitful," he said.

Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten said that the Metropolitan Municipality provided many supports and investments to the entire rural area after the Whole City Law, and thanked Mayor Aktaş and the former mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Recep Altepe, for their support and contributions.
Keles Mayor Mehmet Keskin wished that the feed brought to the district would be fruitful for the producers and thanked Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş for his contributions.
After the speeches, feed sacks were delivered to the producers by President Alinur Aktaş and protocol members. Mayor Aktaş then visited the Keles market and met with tradesmen and citizens. sohbet He.
