LGS Application and Application Guide Has Been Published

The application and application guide for the Central Exam within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS) to be held on June 2, 2024 this year by the Ministry of National Education has been published.

Central Exam Application and Application Guide for Secondary Education Institutions that will accept students through examination at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, http://www.meb.gov.tr It was announced on the website. The guide includes the procedures and principles regarding the Central Exam, which will be held for the purpose of selecting students for the Anatolian technical programs of science high schools, social sciences high schools, project schools, vocational and technical Anatolian high schools, for students studying in the 8th grade of public and private secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools.

Application Procedures

Applications for the Central Exam, which will be held on June 2, 2024 within the scope of LGS, will be made between 18-29 March 2024. Participation in the exam, which will be held free of charge, is optional and students who want to participate can apply through the e-School system. School principals will guide students through the application process, and exam applications will be approved by school principals until April 1, 2024. Students studying abroad in schools that are not registered with the e-School system will apply by filling out the form in the published guide. Students will be able to follow whether their applications have been made or not via e-School.

Scope of LGS Exam

Based on the achievements determined in the 8th grade curriculum for each field, there will be questions that will measure the student's skills in understanding what he reads, interpreting, drawing conclusions, problem solving, making analysis, critical thinking, scientific process and so on.

LGS Entry Documents Will Be Announced as of May 24

According to the guide, the photo exam entrance documents will be received electronically by the school principals, sealed and approved, and delivered to the students as of May 24, 2024.
Students will have to bring their photo-approved entry documents and valid ID documents with them when they come to the exam.

LGS First Session Will Start at 09.30, Second Session Will Start at 11.30

In the first session, students will be asked a total of 50 questions from Turkish, Turkish Republic history of revolution and Kemalism, religious culture and ethics, and foreign language courses and will be given 75 minutes to answer. In the second session, students will be asked a total of 40 questions from mathematics and science courses and will be given 80 minutes to answer them. The number of correct and incorrect answers will be determined for each subtest in the verbal and numerical sections. Each student's raw score for each subtest will be calculated by subtracting one-third of the number of incorrect answers from the number of correct answers for the relevant test.
