Hülya-Özdemir Speech International Izmir Theater Festival Begins

Hülya-Özdemir Nutku International İzmir Theater Festival, organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for the 42nd time this year, starts on Wednesday, March 13. In the festival, which will last until March 27, World Theater Day, local and national theater groups, as well as theater groups from Germany, Greece, Lebanon and Serbia, will meet with the people of Izmir.

The International Izmir Theater Festival (2022nd International Izmir Theater Days), organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality under the name "Hülya-Özdemir Speech" starting from 42, will be held between 13-27 March. As every year, in the festival, in addition to children's plays, local plays and national plays, international plays with theater teams from Germany, Greece, Lebanon and Serbia will meet the people of Izmir in many districts.

Opening game from Serbia

The festival will start on Wednesday, March 13th, with the play "Threshold" written by Hasan Erkek, which will be staged by Serbia's Novi Pazar Regional Theater at İZBBŞT İsmet İnönü Stage at 20.30. MUT from Germany! Theater, Theater In Progress from Lebanon, and Sebun Quartet from Greece will take part in the Izmir stages with their valuable plays in the following days of the festival.

The play “Pripyat” will premiere at the festival.

As in previous years, the first performance of a play will be held at this festival again this year. On Monday, March 18, at 20.30, local theater team 10 ART Mekan will meet the audience for the first time at Izmir Sanat with their play "Pripyat".

Local twelve theater screenings

Twelve valuable theater teams from Istanbul, Eskişehir and Hatay will add color to the festival with twelve plays, 6 for adults and 6 for children, one of which is the premiere play.
