Generation Exam Excitement in Konya Selçuklu

Athletes training in the Taekwondo branch of Selçuklu Belediyespor Club experienced generational excitement.

Approximately 400 athletes participated in the ceremony held at the Selçuklu Municipality International Sports Hall. While the belt exam, in which coaches and families also took part, witnessed great excitement, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyaşmacı presented their new belts to the successful athletes.

Speaking at the program and saying that he is always proud of the athletes, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı said; He said that Selçuklu Municipality Sports Club continues to be the pride and pride of Konya and Turkey, with 15 thousand licensed athletes in 15 different branches, over 200 national athletes and hundreds of medals they have achieved in both national and international competitions.

Stating that Selçuklu will continue to be the center of sports in Konya from now on, Pekyaşmacı said, "We are currently continuing the construction of the largest athlete selection and training center in Turkey. In an area of ​​40 thousand square meters, with a closed area of ​​over 20 thousand square meters, 15 sports facilities can be built at the same time. We are building Turkey's largest athlete center, where our children can do sports in 15 different branches at the same time, from swimming to basketball, taekwondo, judo, table tennis, wrestling, football, gymnastics and athletics. Hopefully, next year we will bring this center to the service of our youth, children and athletes. Our goal in Konya is to train athletes for the Olympics. I hope that this goal will be achieved and together with our club, our coaches, our sports directorate, our youth and our families, together with our federations, we will hopefully train our athletes from Konya to the Olympics,” he said.
