Botanical Park Good News from Mayor Aktaş

Announcing their new term projects with the aim of a 'green and more livable' Bursa, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and People's Alliance Bursa Metropolitan Mayor candidate Alinur Aktaş said that they will equip the city with thematic parks, where they will provide 3.5 million new green areas. Stating that they will make green a part of daily life with thematic parks, regional parks and green area arrangements that will be spread throughout the city, Mayor Aktaş said, “Among these parks, we have 4 thematic parks that I attach importance to. The first one is Demirtaş Renewable Energy Park, which will have an area of 180 thousand square meters. We are implementing an instructive and encouraging park concept on water efficiency with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, on an area that was used as a garbage dump in our city in previous years. Another one is Kumsaz Water World Regional Park with an area of 440 thousand square meters. We offer our entertainment theme park, which includes water-related activities, to the use of our citizens, where water and play groups are used together, people of all age groups can participate. Thirdly, Bursa Product Agriculture Innovation Park of 500 thousand square meters. "With the aim of making agriculture smart with technology, we will ensure that all our citizens in city life, especially children and young people, meet the soil," he said.

HAMİTLER BOTANICAL PARK
Mayor Aktaş stated that Hamitler Botanical Park, another thematic park, is a project with much greater meaning besides bringing a park to the city, and reminded that the area in the Hamitler region has been used as a regular solid waste storage area since the mid-90s. Stating that approximately 13 thousand people live in the 400 neighborhoods around it, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are bringing the entire area, on which we started working on the 150 thousand square meters of garbage storage, to our city as a botanical park. While we are transforming our regular solid waste storage facility in Hamitler into a botanical park, we are implementing a real transformation in the project we have prepared to eliminate the city's waste. The whole public knows how some people went to the courthouse and delayed this work for 3 years in order to prevent this project. As Bursa, we produce 3 thousand 500 tons of solid waste per day. "We are bringing the 'Integrated Solid Waste Disposal Facility' to our city, which was prepared using the latest technologies and incorporates modern urbanism and environmental sensitivities at the highest level," he said.

ELECTRICITY WILL BE PROVIDED FOR 100 THOUSAND HOUSES
Stating that completely scientific methods were used from site selection to project design, Mayor Aktaş said, “2 thousand 500 tons of waste per day will be disposed of with our facility, which evaluates waste as a raw material, not as garbage, and does not cause any negative effects on the environment, especially odor, in a closed system. We will produce electricity equivalent to the energy consumption of 100 thousand households annually. Despite all the obstacles, by building the Ring Road in advance, we will save the neighborhoods from the problem they are currently suffering from. An example of this facility continues its operations in İnegöl Yeniyörük as the 'Eastern Integrated Solid Waste Disposal Facility'. We are also providing our parks with earthquake park infrastructure to be used in disaster situations. "We are implementing millions of square meters of park projects all over our city," he said.
