'Touch Life by Weaving' Project was Implemented in Malatya

In cooperation with Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, Malatya City Council and Support to Life Humanitarian Aid Association, the Malatya Public Education Center-approved Carpet Weaving Course for women was implemented with the "Touch Life by Weaving" project.

Within the scope of the 'Touch Life by Weaving' project, training is given every weekday at Malatya Kerpiç Evler Carpet Weaving Workshop.

Stating that they opened a Carpet Weaving Course for women after the February 6 Earthquakes, Malatya City Council Women's Council President Saliha Bulut said, “After the earthquake, our people needed to be supported psychologically. We thought that they could both gain financially and exhibit their handicrafts through course training. We found it appropriate to open such a course in order to prevent it from being a profession that is about to be forgotten and to transfer those embroideries to the future. We were very happy that they produced good work in a short time.” she said.

Carpet Weaving Course Instructor Fatma Kılınç said, “I presented the 'Touch Life by Weaving' Project for our women after the earthquake. After our project was deemed appropriate, we started our training on February 22. We have 15 trainees. We provide training every weekday between morning and noon. "There is a lot of effort in our project." she said.

Trainees who attended the Carpet Weaving course after the February 6 Earthquakes expressed their satisfaction with the training.
