1-Year-Old Baby Mila, The First Passenger of the Cable Car in Kartepe

KOCAELI (IGFA) – Services have started on the Cable Car Line built by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in the winter tourism center Kartepe. The first passengers of the cable car, which was announced by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın to provide free service until Monday, April 15, were the Bektaş family from Kartepe Köseköy. The couple's 1-year-old daughter, baby Mila, was the first guest of the cable car from Derbent to Kuzuyayla.

A 50 YEAR DREAM HAS COME TRUE

The cable car project, which is the most important deficiency of Kartepe, an important center of Kocaeli's winter tourism, and the city's 50-year-old dream, has been completed. Following the checks, Kartepe Cable Car Project has been opened to the use of citizens as of today. On the first day, citizens flocked to Derbent station to benefit from the free cable car service and reach the top of the Samanlı mountains with the view of Sapanca Lake and Izmit Bay.

FIRST PASSENGERS BEKTAŞ FAMILY

The first passengers of the cable car, which will operate free of charge until Monday, April 15, were the Bektaş family from Kartepe Köseköy. The couple Alihan and Esma Bektaş became the first passengers of the Kartepe Cable Car with their 1-year-old daughter Mila. The couple had an unforgettable travel experience with their daughters.

AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY

Stating that the cable car is an important project for the city, Alihan Bektaş said, “We wanted to ride the cable car from the first day with my wife and daughter. It was a surprise for us. We were its first passengers. We had a nice journey with views of Sapanca Lake and Izmit Bay. Thanks to everybody for their exertion. He said it is an important service for our city.

9 THOUSAND 736 METERS LENGTH

The cable car line has a total round-trip length of 9 thousand 736 meters and operates on 32 poles with heights ranging from 45 to 16 meters. Kartepe Cable Car, which has the distinction of being the cable car line with the highest poles in Turkey, serves between Derbent and Kuzuyayla with 10 cabins for 73 people each. During the 14-minute journey, you reach 331 altitude from 1421 altitude by passing over the trees rather than through them.
