Years' Dream Comes True in Bursa

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has put into service many investments such as rail systems, new roads, smart intersections and public transportation in order to produce radical solutions to the transportation issue in Bursa, continues its efforts to breathe life into transportation. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who recently announced the projects he plans to implement in the new period, stated that he aims to lighten the traffic load by approximately 3 times by connecting the city, which is located on a single main line, to 3 main lines. The 'Southern Corridor', which will be created as an alternative to a single main axis, is slowly being implemented with ongoing transportation investments.

Türkmenbaşı-Erdoğan Caddesi Connection Road, which is the continuation of the completion works of the Southern Corridor, the first step of which was taken with the bridge and connection roads built on Balıklıdere, was put into service with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki. Lighting, low voltage displacement, parquet, curb and asphalt works were carried out on the 213th Street connecting Türkmenbaşı Street to Erdoğan Street in Esenevler District and on the road on Erdoğan Street. A total of 900 meters long, 2 going and 2 returning divided roads were added. In addition, a 550-meter-long bicycle path was also created and made available to citizens. Thanks to the opened road, the area between Kestel Uludağ Street and Yıldırım Bağlaraltı Kaplıkaya has been united. While the two districts are connected to each other, it is aimed to relieve city traffic on the Kestel-Yıldırım-Osmangazi-Nilüfer line, thanks to the 'Southern Corridor'. In addition to Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, Bursa Deputies Mustafa Varank, Müfit Aydın, Ayhan Salman, AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan, district mayors, political party representatives, headmen and citizens attended the ceremony.

“URBAN TRANSFORMATIONS ARE THE RESULT OF OUR DREAMS”

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş reminded that Yıldırım district is a district formed by immigration from regions such as the East and Southeast, the Black Sea and Central Anatolia. Stating that Yıldırım, which covers 1 percent of Bursa in terms of surface area, covers 21 percent of the city in terms of population, Mayor Aktaş stated that Yıldırım is a rapidly growing and developing region with a population of 650 thousand. Explaining that rapid migrations have negative effects on Bursa and Yıldırım, Mayor Aktaş said, “Of course, our people want to be in more beautiful houses, more beautiful roads, more beautiful parks, and their children want to be educated in better schools. For this, it is necessary to make a transformation. Together with Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz, we demonstrate an important will for the transformation of the district. The urban transformations we carry out are the result of these dreams. During this period, this transformation will spread in waves with the support of our Ministry. "If we are lucky enough, we will all experience the Bursa and Yıldırım that we truly dream of, together," he said.

OL THE WAY IS CIVILIZATION ”

Reminding that people also undergo surgery when their veins are blocked and their veins are reopened, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are opening the clogged veins of Bursa and Yıldırım. Bursa is a city that leans its back to Uludağ in the south on the 30-kilometer axis between Kestel and Görükle, and is a city that used to be a plain in the north and now covers a large part of it. While our central population was 2000 million in the 1s, the population in the center is now 2 million 200 thousand. But we still go back and forth on the same street. The late Süleyman Demirel talked about the Southern Ring Road 40-50 years ago. But I could not see such a project in the Highways Department. We are creating the Southern Ring Road with the support of our President and our Ministry. This opened road is also a part of this project. 66 decares of treasury land was given to us by the Ministry. Now there is another 33-34 decare area. If you present it to us, we will make the transformation very comfortable and easy. The area has already been declared as a reserve area. We also request from you the authority to implement zoning in the region. Hopefully, on this occasion, we will be able to complete the work we carried out in Degirmenönü-Karapınar-Cumalıkızık more quickly. The road is civilization, the road is development. This is not Yıldırım's bad luck. Our only concern is to prepare a more beautiful Yıldırım and Bursa for our youth and children. "Yıldırım is beautiful with you," he said.

“THERE ARE NEARLY 50 MOVABLE FAULT LINES”

Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, wished that the newly opened road would be beneficial to the district and Bursa, and wished an accident-free journey to everyone who will use it. Minister Özhaseki stated that there are mayors who are in a good mood but cannot carry out urban transformation, who pontificate every day in the media, pretend to be the President, wander around lazily, and then disappear when they hear about urban transformation. thank you. The road is civilization. Thank you to Alinur Aktaş, who opened the road that has been awaited for years. May God grant us the ability to open many beautiful roads. We have a homeland like heaven. While these lands have many beauties, they also have disadvantages in two respects. One of them is that there is no shortage of fitness, the other is that it is an earthquake zone. There are currently nearly 50 active fault lines. The most important one is the North Anatolian Fault Line. It starts around Van and has reached Niksar-Tosya-Bolu-Abant-Gölcük over a period of 80 years. Now the Adalar lieutenant is waiting. God forbid if this breaks, which historical past says it will. "None of us know when it will break, but we will all suffer greatly," he said.

“MINISTRY-MUNICIPALITY-CITIZENS WILL JOIN HAND”

Underlining that Turkey needs to be renewed as soon as possible due to this fault line that has been active for thousands of years, Özhaseki said, “We must transform our homes as soon as possible. Urban transformation is essential for this. We are an earthquake country. We cannot pat our knees and sigh every time an earthquake occurs and continue. Thank God, we are smart people too. We can easily handle these tasks with our past experience. We all need to take very serious steps against the upcoming earthquake. There is only one way to do urban transformation right. Ministry, Municipality and citizens will join hands. They will get along and work together. Urban transformation is done arm in arm. It will cause minimal burden to the citizens. Maybe it will never come. The mayor who reaches an agreement with the citizens and comes to the Ministry to solve the problem is the most successful mayor. Alinur Aktaş and Oktay Yılmaz came to Ankara and met many times. When he bought 60 decares of land, he said that if he bought another 34 decares of land, he would do better urban transformation here. It depends on us as the ministry, but ultimately it is the property of the nation. If it is going to be used in urban transformation, 30 decares, 130 decares, 230 decares are well done. I'm ready to give, as long as he does it. "Every request from Bursa has a high priority," he said.

Following the speeches, Türkmenbaşı-Erdoğan Street Connection Road was opened to transportation with a ribbon cutting by Minister Özhaseki, Mayor Aktaş and protocol members.
