The Olympic Spirit Will Be Kept Alive in This Facility

In order to make Bursa a brand city in sports, the Metropolitan Municipality, which not only supports amateur clubs but also provides 'branch-specific' sports facilities to the city, also built a privileged facility in Emek District. The facility, which will have a total usage area of 1420 square meters, will bear the name of Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor's Olympic medalist national taekwondo athlete Hatice Kübra İlgün. On the ground floor of Emek Hatice Kübra İlgün Youth and Sports Facility, there are taekwondo and wrestling halls, locker rooms and trainer rooms on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a youth center, library, audio reading room, dietician/psychologist room, prayer room, study areas and administrative units. The facility, which will meet an important need in the region with its landscaping and open parking lot, was built with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Stating that they attach special importance to young people and children, Mayor Aktaş said, “We know that there is an expectation of baby carriers and swimming pools in the labor district. We start pool construction in May. We will open our second, larger capacity baby carrier to the Emek region as soon as possible. We prepare our young people for life in the best possible way with YKS courses, scholarships given to vocational high school and university students, employment and internships through BIKO, domestic and international trips, and sports activities. We have important projects for young people in the new period. We continue our work with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. New successes are starting to come one after another. We are increasing the number of scholarships from 10 thousand to 16 thousand in the new term. We will increase the number of youth centers from 16 to 50. We will increase the number of YKS course centers from 6 to 15. "It's all for our youth," he said.

"WE ARE PROUD"

Asking young people to trust themselves, Mayor Aktaş said, “I would like to thank Hatice Kübra İlgün's family for gifting such a good child to Turkey. Hatice Kübra also achieved success by working, believing and self-confident. As long as you have faith within you. If you put forth your effort, the rest will surely come. Our girl Hatice, who made us proud in the taekwondo branch, came third in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and brought Bursa its first Olympic medal in its history. Our athlete has 2 world third places, 1 world second place and is also the last European champion. At the beginning of this year, she was also selected as the 'best female athlete of the year' at the Turkish Crystal Globe Awards. I say Hatice Kübra is a bit low. I congratulate him, she. We are proud. I wish you success in your future life. “May this name be beneficial to this hall.”
