'Real Municipalism' Will Continue in Bursa Karacabey

Ali Özkan, who has been the mayor of Karacabey for two terms and who is once again the Mayoral Candidate of the People's Alliance in the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024, shared his goals and projects for the new term.

At the launch meeting held at Karacabey Atatürk Sports Hall; AK Party MKYK Member Önder Matlı, AK Party District Chairman Gültekin Saygısever, MHP District Chairman Ahat Şanlı, AK Party founding District Chairman Mehmet Salih Bagis, AK Party and MHP district administrations, headmen, council members, representatives of non-governmental organizations and citizens attended.

While citizens of Karacabey, from ages 7 to 70, showed great interest in the meeting, Mayor Ali Özkan, who took the stage at the organization, stated that investments in Karacabey with the understanding of 'real municipalism' will continue without slowing down, and said that Karacabey will experience its golden age in the new period.

KARACABEY FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES WILL BE ESTABLISHED

In his speech, Özkan reminded that agriculture is one of the most important centers in our country and said that they aim to bring Karacabey Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies to the city in the new period.

Reminding that Turkey is an earthquake country, Özkan said, “Earthquake is unfortunately the reality of Turkey. There are not many risky buildings in our district in terms of building stock. However, as Karacabey Municipality, we continue to take cautious steps in this regard. As a result of our cooperation with AKUT, a modern training center in Karaca Park will be completed soon. The Disaster Awareness Complex that we will implement will make significant contributions to our city in this sense. Of course, our hope is that there will be no need for these, but our location in an earthquake country requires us to be conscious and in coordination against such disasters. "In this sense, we aim to provide earthquake-resistant reserve residential areas in our city," he said.

KARACABEY CENTRAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY WILL BE BUILT

Stating that the future of Karacabey is being built on solid foundations with new investments, Özkan said that following the infrastructure works carried out in Karacabey by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, BUSKİ, and which will meet the 100-year needs of the city, the construction of treatment facilities in Karacabey continues rapidly, and in the new period, Karacabey Center He said that they aim to bring the Waste Water Treatment Plant to the city.

Stating that the 12th Food, Agriculture and Livestock Fair held in Karacabey this year attracted great attention with the participation of producers and farmers from all over Turkey, Özkan said, “We are working to take Karacabey further in every sense. Interest in the organizations held in our city is increasing day by day and new areas are needed. "At this point, we want to bring a fair and event area with a much larger capacity to Karacabey," he said.

Reminding that the return to rural areas in Turkey began to accelerate, especially after the pandemic period, Özkan said, “Our Karacabey is a production center with organic and natural agriculture activities in its rich geography. In addition, it is one of the ideal cities for a healthy and natural life, with Turkey's longest natural beach of 23 kilometers, its shores to the Marmara Sea, and the floodplain forest and linden forest right next to us. Especially after the pandemic process, with the spread of alternative tourism, the interest in our city began to increase day by day. In this sense, we aim to encourage return to the countryside by further expanding our rural settlement areas. "While doing this, we will also create new routes related to rural tourism areas," he said.

Emphasizing that they continue to support citizens in need at all times with the understanding of social municipalism, Özkan also said that they aim to bring a rehabilitation and elderly care center to the city in the new period.

Mayor Özkan stated that they will continue their investments in sports in the new period in Karacabey, the city of sports and athletes, in order to direct and encourage all citizens from 7 to 70 to participate in sports, and stated that they aim to bring an archery complex to the city at this point.

Özkan said that, as Karacabey Municipality, they aim to support young people who are preparing to step into the business world with career meetings and guidance research services, and noted that they will continue their work to bring a qualified workforce to the future of our country.

Reminding that many products are grown in Karacabey, which has a deep-rooted history with its agriculture-based industry and is home to widespread agricultural activities and fertile lands in its wide geography, Özkan said that Karacabey especially produces tomatoes, laurels, red peppers, onions, sauerkraut, linden and He said that delicacies such as mihaliç cheese will be carried into the future with the local product market.
