Koza Library was put into service in Nilüfer

Nilüfer Municipality continues to follow the paths to knowledge and open living libraries. After Akkılıç, Üçevler, Demirci, Poetry, Children and Mobile Libraries, which are in service, Koza Library has now been opened.

Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem and his wife Zeynep Terzioğlu Erdem, as well as CHP Bursa Deputy Kayıhan Pala, CHP Nilüfer Mayor Candidate Şadi Özdemir, Görükle Neighborhood Headman Hasan Sert, civil society members attended the opening ceremony of Koza Library, the new address of knowledge and discovery with the transformative power of books. Representatives of the organization and many citizens attended.
Speaking at the opening, Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem stated that they opened the 7th library in the district and said that the journey that started years ago with Akkılıç Library continued with Koza Library, after Üçevler and Demirci Libraries, Poetry Library, Children's Library and Mobile Library. Stating that Koza Library was built on two floors in an area of ​​1930 square meters, Mayor Erdem explained that they aim to offer visitors a free 'living space' where they can both access information and socialize.
Reminding that sericulture has an important place in Görükle's local history, Mayor Erdem said, "We named our library "Cocoon" to refer to this feature of the region. Koza Library; It became the largest library in Nilüfer with its reading rooms, young adult and children's sections, computer room, workshops and event areas. "The book stock of our library is around 15 thousand for now, but of course this number will increase over time," he said.

Explaining that Koza Library was built with the support of philanthropists and business people, Mayor Erdem explained that the municipality only spent money on environmental planning. Stating that they benefited from philanthropists not only here but also in many areas such as health centers, family health centers, nurseries, school areas, Mayor Erdem stated that they were pleased with the work they did in the public sphere, even though they were sometimes criticized, and thanked those who supported, those who contributed and Architect Ufuk Toktaş. He thanked.
CHP Nilüfer Mayor Candidate Şadi Özdemir pointed out that Nilüfer is a region that receives immigration from 16 districts and said, “There are many factors behind this, such as culture, art, educational activities and perspective towards young people. These libraries are very useful places for society. Mustafa Bozbey and Turgay Erdem realized such projects and created great values. It became the 7th library in Nilüfer. We will continue this understanding if we take office. At the end of the mission, I hope we will have doubled the number of libraries. We attach great importance to building study centers in the neighborhoods. We are ready to do our part to raise a new generation. CHP Bursa Deputy Kayıhan Pala also touched upon the librarianship services in Nilüfer and said, “Nilüfer's libraries are not just places to buy and give books, as they were in our childhood. Libraries in Nilüfer are living places. These are also places where children and young people develop themselves. "This place will make a significant contribution to children and young people pursuing their dreams," he said.

After the speeches, Mayor Seher Çavuşoğlu, on behalf of the members of Görükle Women's Solidarity, Development and Culture Association, thanked Nilüfer Mayor Erdem for the support he has given them so far and gave flowers. Then, the opening of Koza Library took place with the ribbon cutting. Nilüfer Municipality Library Director Şafak Pala showed the guests around the library and gave information.

After the opening, the first workshops took place. Hakan Akdoğan, “Deep Reading Workshop on Kafka's Novel Transformation”; Nalan Karagöz held a "Drama Workshop with Women Based on Sait Faik's Silk Handkerchief Story", and Nurçin Baba held a "Caterpillar Workshop for Children". Koza Library will be open between 09.00-23.00 on weekdays and 10.00-18.00 on weekends.
