In cooperation with Gölcük Municipality, District Directorate of National Education, District Youth and Sports Directorate; Inter-School Chess Tournament organized within the scope of If You Are a Student in Gölcük Project has started. In the tournament, which will be held at Şirinköy Cultural Center and last for 3 days, students studying in the district will show off their moves. 295 students will compete in the tournament, which started with the first move of Gölcük Mayor Ali Yıldırım Sezer.
Gölcük Mayor Ali Yıldırım Sezer, Gölcük Youth and Sports District Director Hasan Ceyhan, District Deputy Director of National Education Ozan Baş, parents and citizens attended the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Speaking at the opening of the tournament, President Sezer said, “I would like to thank all our students who participated in the chess tournament, their esteemed families who raised them, our teachers, Turkish Chess Federation officials, referees and everyone who contributed. "We will continue our work and activities that will support the education and development of our students," he said.
3 DAYS OF EXCITEMENT
In the tournament that will last between 5-6-7 March at Şirinköy Cultural Center, primary school, middle school and high school students will talk about their strategies to make the best moves. The students who rank highest in the tournament will be presented with their awards at a ceremony.
