424 Million Cubic Meters of Wastewater Treatment Was Done in Manisa

Manisa Water and Sewerage Administration (MASKİ) General Directorate, which has been continuing its investments in protecting the fertile lands of Gediz and Bakırçay Plains since its establishment under the leadership of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün, continues to successfully operate its wastewater treatment facilities.

MASKİ General Manager Burak Aslay stated that 20 million cubic meters of wastewater has been treated so far with 424 wastewater treatment plants operated by the administration. General Manager Aslay added that the facilities benefited from 2015 Million 2022 thousand TL energy incentives between 32-400.

Stating that Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün attaches great importance to environmental investments in terms of protecting Manisa's natural environment, General Manager Aslay said, “We continue our work to provide healthy drinking water and infrastructure to our citizens living in 700 neighborhoods of 17 districts with our approximately 1088 personnel. We attach great importance to our wastewater treatment plant investments in order to leave a more livable city to our future generations. Since the day our administration was established, we have built modern facilities in the center of Manisa and Alaşehir, instead of facilities that have completed their economic life. We also brought new facilities to Turgutlu, Soma, Gördes, Alaşehir Kavaklıdere and Sarıgöl, which do not have wastewater treatment facilities. We currently serve Manisa with 20 wastewater treatment plants, including the facilities we took over from district and town municipalities. In our Selendi Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, construction works, mechanical and electrical manufacturing were completed and the facility was accepted as dry. Our construction work continues rapidly in Demirci and Kırkağaç İlyaslar. In addition, the projects of the facilities we will build in Köprübaşı, Alaşehir Uluderbent and Yunusemre Muradiye neighborhoods are ready. "Considering all these investments, we have treated and discharged 424 million cubic meters of wastewater cleanly into the fertile Gediz and Bakırçay basins since our establishment," he said.

“WE BENEFITED FROM THE ENERGY INCENTIVE OF 32 MILLION 400 THOUSAND TL”

General Manager Aslay stated that within the scope of the regulation published by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, they have successfully fulfilled all the provisions included in the regulation within the scope of the energy incentive given to wastewater treatment facilities that have an environmental permit and have not received an environmental penalty during the year. Our operated facilities benefited from an energy incentive of 2015 million 2022 thousand TL between 32 and 400. After the necessary studies for the 2023 energy incentives are completed, we will apply to the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Energy incentives from our facilities enable us to make new investments in Manisa and protect our corporate budget. "Manisa and our people from Manisa will continue to win with each new facility that is eligible to benefit from the energy incentive," he said.
