Yontar Reacted to Şevki Yılmaz in the Parliament

CHP Tekirdağ Deputy Nurten Yontar, in her speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, said to former Welfare Party member Şevki Yılmaz, who once again insulted and cursed Atatürk at a wedding he attended, that "those who are hostile to Atatürk are immoral, ethnicity-addicted and seek political gain through religion." He reacted with the words: "Our entire nation knows it."

Yontar's speech is as follows: “In his speech to the media, former Rize Deputy and Mayor Şevki Yılmaz hinted that our founding leader, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all the Anatolian raiders who made the Balkans their homeland were "Jewish converts". Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a common value of the Turkish nation, and disrespect towards him is considered as an act of disrespect to the Turkish nation. Our entire nation knows that those who harbor hostility towards Atatürk are immoral, interested in ethnicity, and pursuing political interests through religion. If we hear the call to prayer and see our flag waving in this country, we owe it to Ataturk. “They go as they come.” who said, "If only the Greeks had won." I commemorate our Great Leader, who founded a young republic by not leaving it in the hands of those who said, with respect, mercy and gratitude. May your soul rest in peace, my Ata.”
