Support for Vocational Education from MÜSİAD Bursa

Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) Bursa Branch continues to support vocational education. Within the scope of the protocol signed with Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education, MÜSİAD Bursa Branch will support students and teachers in 16 vocational and technical schools.

Bursa Deputy Governor Mustafa Kılıç, Bursa Provincial Director of National Education Ahmet Alireisoğlu, MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Chairman Alparslan Şenocak and MÜSİAD Bursa Sector Boards Chairman Halil Atalay, along with the principals of the schools within the scope of the project and MÜSİAD Bursa members attended the protocol ceremony.

'WE WILL PREPARE OUR YOUTH MORE EQUIPPED FOR THE FUTURE'

Emphasizing that the quality of a country's human resources plays a critical role in economic, social and cultural development, MÜSİAD Bursa Chairman of the Board of Directors Alparslan Şenocak pointed out the importance of developing vocational education and stated that every step taken in this direction is hope for the future of the country. Emphasizing that developing the knowledge and skills of human capital is very important in achieving the Turkey Century goals, Şenocak said that technological developments and globalization make vocational education even more valuable.

Underlining that one of the most important goals is to adapt the curriculum and educational contents of vocational schools in the industrial city of Bursa to the demands of the business world and the needs of the sector, Mayor Şenocak said; “As MÜSİAD, we aim to support students and teachers in 16 vocational and technical schools in our city within the scope of the cooperation protocol we signed with the Provincial Directorate of National Education. In this context, we aimed to strengthen the education of students by providing support such as various trainings, seminars, promotions, trips, fairs, exhibitions, interviews, scholarships, clothing and stationery aid to our schools, and to offer internship and employment opportunities through our member companies. In this way, we aim to ensure a stronger cooperation between the business world and schools and to contribute to the preparation of our young people in a better equipped way for the future.” said.

WE MUST PRODUCE BETTER EXAMPLES

Bursa Provincial Director of National Education Ahmet Alireisoğlu emphasized the importance of cooperation with MÜSİAD Bursa Branch and said that Bursa has the potential and opportunity for such cooperation. Alireisoğlu stated that 52 thousand students are educated in vocational high schools in Bursa and approximately 11 thousand students graduate every year. Director Alireisoğlu stated that 60 percent of the graduates were employed immediately after completing their education and this rate was a great success. Emphasizing that while the average enrollment in vocational high schools in Turkey is 40 percent, this rate is 55 percent in Bursa, Ahmet Alireisoğlu said, “In this sense, we have to work harder and produce better examples. The unity of education and business world, which are close to each other, will provide this opportunity. "We would like to thank MÜSİAD Bursa Branch for this cooperation," he said.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR BURSA

Bursa Deputy Governor Mustafa Kılıç emphasized that Bursa is the 4th metropolitan city in Turkey and one of the most important provinces in terms of industry, and underlined that there are 17 industrial zones in Bursa; “Vocational education is very important for our city in this sense. The employment needs of our businesses are met by our students who graduate from educational institutions that support the industry. A very valuable collaboration emerged with the support of MÜSİAD Bursa to these studies carried out by our Provincial Directorate of National Education. In this context, I would like to thank the MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Board of Directors and our Provincial Directorate of National Education.” said.

Following the speeches, the Cooperation Protocol for Increasing the Quality and Effectiveness of Vocational and Technical Education through Joint Use of Resources was signed by MÜSİAD Bursa Branch and Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education.
