The 'Discover Samsun, Notice Your City Project', carried out within the scope of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality's 'Metropolitan Youth Movement', continues without slowing down. In this context, young people participate in the tour program organized to Akdağ Ski Center in groups.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to help young people develop their sense of belonging to the city, contribute to the detection and solution of problems, enrich their personal knowledge and discover their talents, continues to carry out activities for young people with the motto "If Your Ideals Are As Big As Your Country, The Metropolitan Municipality Is Waiting For You". The 'Discover Samsun, Notice Your City Project', which was launched in July 2021 within the scope of the 'Metropolitan Youth Movement', continues without slowing down. Young people visit the historical and touristic places of the city and taste cultural and traditional delicacies in the travel programs they participate in groups.
During the winter period, it organizes trip programs to Akdağ Ski Center to evaluate the time the snow stays on the ground, which is short in the seasonal conditions of the region. The trips, which are organized 5 days a week and attended by an average of 75 young people each, start with a visit to the Ambarköy Open Air Museum. Students visited Ambarköy, which reflects the natural life as it is, with the 300-year-old Şeyhülislam Mehmet Efendi Wooden Mosque, the stream flowing through it, the lake, the water mill, the wooden houses, the observation tower, the wooden children's playground, the wooden and chain bridge and the social complex, and then the Akdağ Ski Center. Providing information about the organized program, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Branch Manager Savaş Keskin said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality Youth Movement, we set out with the slogan 'If your ideals are as big as your country, the metropolitan city is calling you'. In this context, we prepare special routes and organize travel programs for our young people throughout the year. During the winter period, we organize excursion programs to Akdağ Ski Center, one of the important tourism spots of our city. The programs are very nice and entertaining for our young people. "Our aim is to enable our young people to visit the historical and touristic places of our city and learn about its culture and traditional tastes," he said.
