In order to increase traffic awareness, last year, 8 thousand 583 students were given traffic training by Gendarmerie teams in Van within the scope of the Traffic Safety Action Plan.
The teams visited schools across the city, met with students and organized educational activities. Training teams also inspected 8 thousand 235 school buses and 4 thousand 676 bus drivers were informed about traffic safety.
Brochures about traffic rules were distributed to drivers and the importance of wearing seat belts, the obligation of winter tires and the harms of drunk driving were explained.
