Kayseri Pastrami's registration application before the European Union was published in the EU Official Journal. "Our pastrami, whose homeland is Kayseri, will be registered as 'Protected Geographical Indication-PGI' by the EU and will be protected in the European Union," he said.
Mayor Büyükkılıç wished that the registration application would bring good luck to Kayseri, which is located in the UNESCO Gastronomy Creative Cities High School.
