Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO) January ordinary council meeting was held at M.Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu Meeting Hall.
Following a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, the activities carried out in January were discussed at the meeting. The agenda items discussed were accepted unanimously.
KTO Chairman of the Board of Directors Ömer Gülsoy, who came to the podium to make evaluations about the agenda, said: Metropolitan Mayor Dr., who was announced as the Metropolitan Mayor Candidate by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He started by congratulating Memduh Büyükkılıç.
Expressing that Memduh Büyükkılıç is a sincere president who is at peace with all segments of the society, as well as his superior efforts, Gülsoy said, “What is important for us is to take the economy and peace of our city to the highest level. We know your efforts in this direction. We are witnesses to this. When you are elected, we will have the opportunity to work together again in the coming period. “We will achieve good work together.” said.
“A COMPLETE CEASE CEASE SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN GAZA”
Referring to Israel's brutality in Gaza, which has been going on for 118 days, Gülsoy said, “The massacre committed by Israel has now turned into a war against humanity. Those who fail to be human are literally destroying humanity in Gaza.
The international court of justice has made its decision, Israel will be tried for genocide, a state founded by people who suffered genocide is being tried for genocide. "Trial is good, but a full ceasefire in Gaza must be implemented as soon as possible for permanent peace in the Middle East." he said.
“2024 WILL BE A YEAR IN WHICH THE ECONOMY WILL BE BALANCED FOR TURKEY”
Evaluating the latest developments in the economy in his speech, Gülsoy continued his words as follows:
“We saw a world economy and trade starting in 2023 with high inflation and tight monetary policies. We have begun to experience a tremendous global separation. We have also made some progress on high inflation, which is a problem for the world and slows down our business. It looks like 2024 will be a year of transition and balancing. Geopolitical tensions around Turkey, especially developments in Syria, Iraq and the Eastern Mediterranean, may negatively affect the economy. Regional conflicts can harm trade flows and foreign investment. High inflation rates and interest rates threaten the stability of the Turkish economy. 2024 will also be a year in which it takes part in local elections. With this; Issues such as green transformation, digitalization and sustainability, energy costs and food supply security, and climate crisis will continue to maintain their importance. We believe that 2024, as we enter the second century of our Republic, is also an important year of opportunity that will contribute to the solution of many structural problems, especially the economy. Production, employment, investment and export supports are of great importance. With the structural reforms we will carry out, we must create the conditions to grow by producing, not by consuming, to develop by saving, not by credit, and to compete with added value, not prices. 2024 will be a year of economic balancing for Türkiye. As the business world, the year 2024; We hope that this will be a year in which price stability is achieved along with sustainable, high-quality growth in our economy, and the structural reforms in the medium-term program are implemented decisively. The business world will continue to produce, export and provide employment at full speed. We trust our state and our nation. We have full faith that the shining star of the future will be the Republic of Turkey.”
“OUR PROUD OF ALPER GEZERAVCI EXCEEDS THE SKY”
Speaking about Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, Gülsoy said, “Even though some people see it as a touristic trip, it is a source of pride for our nation. Our Turkish Flag has flown from the new gate that will open the horizons of science. In short, our pride in Alper Gezeravcı exceeds the sky.” He used his expressions.
“OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE LOGISTICS CENTER, HIGHWAY CONNECTION ROAD AND CONTAINER RAIL TRANSPORTATION”
Touching on local problems at the end of his speech, KTO President Gülsoy said, “I think we need to make more efforts for our biggest problem, the Logistics Center, the highway connection road, and another one, the freight rail transportation. Lands that are idle and have lost their pasture qualities need to be brought into the economy. We need your support in this regard too. "As we always say, I would like to repeat our slogan, "There is no trade without transportation." said.
“I WILL BRING MY MASTERY PERIOD TO KAYSERİ”
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. was the guest of the January council meeting. Memduh Büyükkılıç announced the 14 projects they will implement in the new period. Büyükkılıç, who stated that he will bring the Mastery period to Kayseri in unity and solidarity, announced that they will make an arrangement at Kartal Junction to include 4 junctions in the region in order to ease the traffic of the city, and that they will also implement the Erkilet Tram line.
“LOGISTICS CENTER LOCATION AND PROJECT ARE READY”
Mayor Büyükkılıç, in his statement about the Logistics Center brought to the agenda by KTO President Ömer Gülsoy, said, “The place is ready, the project is ready. Hopefully, in the context of the project to strengthen the necessary infrastructure in this area, we will build a center that is not only about truck garage logic, but also about international transportation and every vehicle with rubber wheels. Outside of our city, it will both prevent visual pollution and increase the quality and standard of our services. It will also provide the greatest support to our city's exports. "I would like to express that we will implement our service with the understanding we call Logistics 4.0 by discussing with our companies," he said.
At the end of the meeting, plaques were given to the members of the Informatics, Education Sector, Real Estate, Insurance Agencies, Architects and Engineers Professional Committee members who were most active in Kayseri Chamber of Commerce in 2023.
