It is estimated that digital twin studies within this figure will reach 125 billion dollars. Countries that are aware of the importance of the issue are also making serious investments in this field. With a decision taken by the UK in 2023, the budget allocated to turn every city into a smart city and to create a digital twin of cities is over 600 billion pounds. With this investment, which will be made in approximately 10 years, it is aimed to realize the digital transformation of cities.
Şekip Karakaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAMPAŞ Holding, one of the sector representatives who have been using the power of informatics for 42 years to strengthen and popularize the smart city approach, pointed out that smart urban transformation projects and, more importantly, the realization of these projects are the most important factor affecting the future of our cities, and he has been using the power of informatics for 42 years.
