Support for Producers Continues in Kocaeli

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to support producers in all areas of agriculture. In this context, the Metropolitan Municipality launched the Greenhouse Cultivation and Efficiency Increasing Project in Greenhouses in Gebze district. In the project implemented in cooperation with the Gebze Chamber of Agriculture, production incentive activities are carried out by establishing greenhouses and greenhouses for seasonal vegetable cultivation.

“THE FIRST SOIL SAMPLE WAS TAKEN”

The Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out activities to encourage the establishment of greenhouses and greenhouses for seasonal vegetable cultivation in the rural neighborhoods of Gebze district, as they are close to market opportunities. In this context, the project was started by taking soil samples from the greenhouses of Gebze Chamber of Agriculture Member Hüseyin Kayacan, who has 40 greenhouse greenhouses in Cumaköy District. Gebze Technical University experts support the interpretation of analysis results to increase efficiency. On the other hand, the Agricultural Services Branch Directorate of the Mukhtar Affairs Department provides agricultural consultancy, diesel fuel, fertilizer, seeds, saplings and greenhouse nylon support to farmers. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has built 2 m50 of wind and snow load resistant, ventilated modern greenhouses with a 512 percent grant in the last 2 years, also conducts soil, water, leaf and residue analyzes for all farmers throughout the city.

THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT IS TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY

Within the scope of the project, farmers who own greenhouses and are registered with ÖKS (Greenhouse Registration System) are visited on-site and informed about production issues. Tracking signs are made to number the greenhouses and show the product type and area. Soil samples are taken from all greenhouses and practices are carried out to increase productivity. The purpose of soil analysis; To reveal the type and amount of fertilizer required by the plants to be grown by determining the amount of plant nutrients in the soil.
