'Mother University' Gave Its First Graduates

The 'Family Academy' closing program and 'Mother University' graduation ceremony, which was implemented in cooperation with Van Governorship, Metropolitan Municipality and Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), were held. The ceremony, which was held with the participation of Van Governor and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Ozan Balcı, witnessed colorful images.

Continuing its educational activities for families, the Metropolitan Municipality implemented the 'Family Academy' and 'Mother University' projects. Within the scope of the project, a graduation and cap throwing ceremony was held for 6 mothers who participated in the 150-week training and certificates of participation were given.

The ceremony held at the Evliya Çelebi Practice Hotel Conference Hall in Edremit District was attended by Governor and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Ozan Balcı, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Hatice Atan, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Rector Hamdullah Şevli, Metropolitan Municipality Women and Family Services Department Head Selma Biçek, Deputy Governors, provincial protocol and citizens attended.

“WOMEN'S POWER, VAN'S POWER, WOMEN'S POWER, TURKEY'S POWER”

Making the opening speech of the program, Governor of Van and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Ozan Balcı, stated that the power of women is the power of Van and the power of Turkey and said, "I am very happy to spend the resources of the state and the nation on the real owner of the state, the nation and women. These projects are carried out with large teams. We are doing great work to reduce women's problems and cure their troubles. I believe that the power of women means the power of Van. Women's Power means Turkey's power. We value women's mind, intelligence and productivity. I would like to express that societies that do not benefit from women's minds, intelligence, talents and abilities are like people with half their body paralyzed. As the Governor and Deputy Mayor of the province, I am very happy to spend the means, resources and opportunities of our state and nation on our nation, especially our women, who are the true owners of the state and nation. This project is being implemented with a large team. I would like to thank everyone who contributed. "said.

Touching on the projects implemented by Van Governorship and Metropolitan Municipality, Governor Ozan Balcı concluded his words as follows;

“We have built 111 Kindergartens so far, we are building 9 more. This is support for women. Because the most precious thing for women is their children. We contribute to the future of children. We established Van women's cooperatives, one in each district. Hopefully we will expand them further. In addition, we established 100 family support centers in Van and approximately 30 thousand women receive various trainings there. In addition, we restored 100 schools and established village life centers. There, various trainings and courses are given to our women in the village. We sent 75 thousand women to travel programs. Approximately 25 thousand women attended theatre, cinema, talks and trips. We established study centers for children. 20 thousand students preparing for high school and university exams receive training from 3 thousand teachers. We provide glucometers to 500 children. His fingers are no longer pierced. 100 thousand women were given training by our healthcare professionals within the scope of the Women's Health Movement. We built 22 indoor sports halls for our children, they are almost finished, and we are building 13 swimming pools. We built 300 volleyball and basketball courts. We made a huge investment, an athlete factory. We are building 75 artificial turf fields so that our children can do more sports. We built 11 baby-child libraries. We built 300 school libraries. We brought 3.5 million books to our city. We filled school libraries with books. I care very much about our disabled individuals and their families. We turned the former Governor's house into a school for the disabled. We are bringing the region's first social service campus to our city. We ease the burden of disabled people and their families. We are also building a Special Education campus. It includes kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and high school. “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making all this happen.”

Speaking later, Hatice Atan, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that mothers in our region now take an active role in every platform and thanked Governor Ozan Balcı and those who contributed to the project.

Semiha Sönmez, who stated that she was proud to study at Van YYU with her two children, said that she was happy to graduate before her children.

The program ended with the cap throwing ceremony of the mothers who received their certificates after their speeches.
