Journey to the Past with Anatolian Clothes in Bursa

In the 'Anatolian Clothes from the Principality to the Republic' fashion show and the '100th Anniversary Exhibition' organized within the scope of the 100th anniversary programs of the Republic of Turkey in cooperation with the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Maturation Institute, the aesthetics of Turkish women in clothing from the Principality period to the Seljuk period, from the Ottoman period to the Republic period. and her elegance was revealed.

The 'Anatolian Clothes from the Principality to the Republic' fashion show and the '100th Anniversary Exhibition', organized in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Maturation Institute, within the scope of the 100th anniversary programs of the Republic of Turkey, were held at the Atatürk Congress Cultural Center. Bursa Deputy Emel Gözükara Durmaz, Emine Yavuz Gözgeç and Osman Mesten, Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Ahmet Alireisoğlu, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Dr. Kamil Özer, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Halide Serpil Şahin, Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş's wife Beyhan Demirtaş and art lovers attended. In the fashion show, the clothing designs worn by Hayme Hatun, Selcan Hatun and Malhun Hatuns during the Principality period, and designs with patterns representing the Anatolian Sisters (Bacıyan-ı Rum) Terken Hatun, Seferiye Hatun and Siddi Hatuns during the Seljuk period were revealed. The fashion show, which included the caftan designs worn by Devlet Hatun, Mahi Devran Sultan and Valide Sultans during the Ottoman period, and the designs worn by women with needle lace ideas and always henna hands in the stories of Anatolian women hidden in needle lace, took the audience on a journey through time. The fashion show, where the clothing designs worn by Anatolian women in the War of Independence, Kara Fatma, Nene Hatun, Ayşe Bacı, Gördesli Makbule, Halide Edip Adıvar, original clothing designs worn by women of the Republican period, and women's clothing designs consisting of Atatürk uniforms, gave the audience an unforgettable evening.

The "100th Anniversary Exhibition" included works indicating the meaning and importance of the period. Paintings representing the women of the Republic created using collage and acrylic painting techniques on canvas, watercolor, gouache painting, pencil drawing, miniature art and design works combining dotting technique and marbling art are included in the exhibition, while shukufe technique and watercolor technique are used together on handmade paper. Works designed with were exhibited. The exhibition also included ceramic and stained glass works, woven panels, Turkish Grand National Assembly model work and women's clothing designs worn during the Republic period.

Speaking at the program, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Halide Serpil Şahin thanked those who contributed to the program that provided a visual feast to the participants.

Bursa Deputy Emel Gözükara Durmaz stated that it is very meaningful to organize such a program in Bursa, the capital of an empire that ruled over 3 continents and 7 climates. Explaining that the Anatolian lands have accumulated layer by layer the cultures they have hosted for thousands of years, Durmaz stated that important works have been carried out to bring the rich culture to light again.

Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Ahmet Alireisoğlu stated that the program prepared by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Maturation Institute once again revealed the richness of our civilization and culture and thanked those who contributed to the program.

At the end of the program, protocol members and institute teachers went on stage and shared the excitement by singing the National Anthem together.
