Intensive Work on Railway Lines Damaged in the Earthquake, the Disaster of the Century

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Enver İskurt and General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) Hasan Pezük examined the construction works on the railway lines that were severely damaged in the earthquake. Deputy Minister İskurt and TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük and the accompanying delegation first examined the maintenance-repair and modernization works of the railway line between Malatya and Narlı, which was affected by the earthquake, the disaster of the century. The delegation received information about the latest status of the project in the meetings held at Kapıdere and Narlı construction sites.

Deputy Minister Enver İskurt and TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük also examined the field manufacturing of the ongoing Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High Speed ​​Train Project, within the scope of their field visits. At the meeting held with the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, the current status of the project and the work carried out were discussed.

Deputy Minister Enver İskurt said that intensive work is being carried out to open the closed lines damaged in the earthquake to train traffic as soon as possible. İskurt thanked the railway employees who continued their duties under difficult conditions. Enver İskurt stated that the Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High Speed ​​​​Train Project, which is under construction, will also contribute to the region in the commercial and economic fields.
