The Groundbreaking Program for the Ottoman City Square Transformation to be brought to Ilgın was carried out by Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

MHP Konya Provincial Chairman Remzi Karaarslan said, “Today, we are highlighting the meaning of People's Alliance municipalism. I would like to thank our Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay for the investments made in our 31 districts and our Ilgın Mayor who has served until today. "With God's permission, as MHP and the People's Alliance, we will support our mayor in Ilgın in the elections to be held on March 31," he said.

AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Hasan Angı stated that the Ottoman City Square Project is an important project that suits Ilgın and said, “Transformation has been expected for a long time regarding the project. Both our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, our Metropolitan Municipality and our district municipality contributed to every work to be done. This is a big job. If there are people who shoulder this burden together, in cooperation with the government, the Metropolitan Municipality and the local district municipality, pursuing the same goal, great things can be achieved. ILGIN DISTRICT GOVERNOR YILMAZ THANKS MAYOR ALTAY
Ilgın District Governor Aytekin Yılmaz stated that the project has a feature that will combine the past with the present and the future and said, "I believe that the Ottoman City Square, the foundation of which has been laid, will be put into service as soon as possible and play an important role in introducing and reflecting the historical, cultural and architectural culture of our district. "I would like to thank our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Ilgın Mayor, and all the institutions and organizations that contributed to our district," he said.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they provided various services in line with Ilgın's needs and continued as follows:
“Coming to Ilgın, we started our journey with our prestige street. The service of our Metropolitan Municipality to our city, Bilgehane welcomed us on the right side. We are making our mark in the heart of Ilgın with the Ilgın Cultural Center in front of us, our City Mansion with a swimming pool just ahead, and the Ottoman City Square Project, where we will crown all these services here today. This is actually one of the most important indicators of the point we have reached. In the past 5 years, we have had the opportunity to fulfill many of the tasks we promised in the square. We will bring together two important works in the center of Ilgın, the newly built Ilgın Cultural Center, and make a very important contribution to the texture of the city. The tender price is around 2 million, but we are laying the foundation for an investment that will reach 250 million lira with price increases. I hope it will bring good luck to our Ilgın and our city.”
Noting that they are working feverishly on the Ilgın Wastewater Treatment Facility, Mayor Altay said, “We aim to complete our Ilgın Wastewater Treatment Facility by the end of the year, at a cost of approximately 300 million lira. Thus, an investment of 650 million lira, which is currently ongoing, was realized in Ilgın alone. This power of the Metropolitan Municipality was needed especially for the development of the social life of our districts and the completion of their infrastructure. It is not possible for us to do this on our own. We need coordination. Our esteemed Mayor Yalçın Ertaş not only explained the process here, but also is one of the mayors with whom we have the highest culture of working together in all matters other than this. We have provided important services to our district with our Mayor Yalçın, who has provided important services to our city with his personality with state experience. When the Central Government, Metropolitan Municipality and District Municipality joined hands, we have invested over 2018 billion liras here, with the current value, since 1,5 alone. We make a significant contribution to the transformation of Ilgın with the neighborhood roads, animal market, infrastructure works, social supports, Bilgehanes and our ongoing investments here today. "We will continue to offer it from now on," he said.

People's Alliance Ilgın Mayor Candidate Ömer Apil, AK Party Ilgın District Chairman Ömer Emre, MHP Ilgın District Chairman Harun Ok attended the program and after the speeches, the foundation of the Ottoman City Square was laid with prayers.
After the groundbreaking program, Mayor Altay visited Ilgın tradesmen and wished them good luck. Mayor Altay then visited Argıthanı District and greeted the citizens.
