Edirne Deputy Akalın: Türkiye Has Reached Its Peak in Corruption

İYİ Party Edirne Deputy Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akalın, while making an assessment about Turkey falling into the African league in corruption, according to the Transparency Organization's report, claimed that corruption has reached its peak in Turkey, where the AK Party has been in power for more than 20 years.

Making an evaluation on the corruption report released by the Transparency Organization, Deputy Akalın reminded the AK Party's words that it would complete the '3Y' before coming to power and said, "The policies of the AK Party, which it boasts about with the phrase 'Turkey Century' in the 100th year of the Republic, will lead the country to exit." It dragged me into a difficult vortex. According to the published 2023 Corruption Perception Index, Turkey dropped 2023 places in 14 and remained at 34 points. In the said index, Türkiye ranks 180th among 115 countries; It ranked alongside African countries such as Djibouti, Niger, Kenya, Malawi and Angola. Turkey's score was announced as 2022 in 36. There is a big regression. The reason for this is the corruption of the government. We will finish the 3Y before coming to power in this country. "So there will be no more bans, corruption and poverty," he said.

Noting that the situation is clear at the point reached in 2024, Deputy Akalın said, “Prohibitions are knee-deep, corruption is knee-deep, poverty is knee-deep. Government wins, citizens lose. "Türkiye is being dragged into bankruptcy socially, politically, economically and culturally," he said.
