Disabled and Needy People Met with Wheelchairs in Malatya

Battery-powered and manual wheelchairs were distributed to disabled and needy citizens in Malatya within the scope of the 'We Overcome Obstacles Together in the Disaster of the Century Project' in cooperation with Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, Turkish Confederation of Disabled Persons and Taiwan Embassy.

Within the framework of the 'We Overcome Obstacles Together in the Disaster of the Century Project', the battery-powered wheelchair was delivered to Fahrettin Tokat, the 16-year-old son of the Tokat Family, who applied to the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Health and Social Services Department, Disabled and Elderly Services Branch Directorate, by Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Latif Okyay.

Tokat Family, living in Kaynarca Container City, thanked all concerned parties and said that Fahrettin's future life will be easier and he will be able to go out and visit his friends whenever he wants.

Talking about the details of the project, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Latif Okyay said, “Within the scope of the project carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Confederation of Disabled Persons, Taiwan Embassy and our Municipality, we are carrying out distribution programs for our disabled citizens with both battery-powered and manual vehicles. Today, we delivered our battery-powered vehicle to our brother Fahrettin. We hope our brother Fahrettin enjoys using it. "We would like to thank the Turkish Disabled Persons Confederation and the Taiwan Embassy for their contributions to this process," he said.
