Speaking at the opening of Bodrum Turgutreis Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, CHP Bodrum Mayor candidate Tamer Mandalinci said; “This is exactly what service municipalism is. We are now proud to have fulfilled the promise made by our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Osman Gürün, in 2019. As you know, there was no infrastructure opportunity in our region. Wastewater was discharged into the sea. Thanks to this facility, there will be no wastewater problem anymore. “I would like to thank President Gürün, who made us feel this pride today and who will hand the flag to us at the top.” said.

CHP High Disciplinary Board member Remzi Kazmaz also said the following at the opening; “How fortunate I was to attend the opening of this facility built by my legendary president Osman Gürün here today. It was made with 10 years of effort. The most important element of municipalism is to be transparent and without wasting people's money. Osman President kept the target high. I am sure that President Ahmet will work day and night for Muğla.”

Bodrum Mayor and CHP Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate Ahmet Aras at the opening of Turgutreis Advanced Biological Treatment Facility; "Our beloved president Osman Gürün, who served Muğla for many years, made important investments in Bodrum. With the Metropolitan Law, infrastructure services such as sewerage and roads started to be provided simultaneously all over Muğla. Significant sewage works were carried out especially in our region. The foundation we laid in 2020 has reached its conclusion today. Our roads have been broken for about 4 years and we have been faced with dust and soil. We were criticized. However, with these services, Bodrum met with a facility unprecedented in its history. For this, I would like to thank my dear president once again. Bodrum is the guest room of our country. We will open our Muğla spotlessly clean to our guests. Mr. President set the bar high and we will carry this flag higher day and night.

You see and hear from our competitors that they make statements as if the service was not provided. The tax collected from the region in the last 10 years is more than 500 billion. However, 6 per thousand of this tax was paid by the government as services. Our Metropolitan Municipality invested approximately 10 billion. This is possible without wasting any penny. Many different investments were made from Seydikemer to Bodrum, including at least 13 wastewater treatment plants, sewage and drinking water facilities. It would have been different if the government had made these investments in 20 years. 63,5 Million Euro loan approval was not given by the government. Even if they want to block us, let our services be an example to them.

Ahmet Aras; “This is Muğla, don't plunder like that. "We will not surrender these ancient lands so easily."

When we take over, we will work with the same seriousness and meticulousness in our 13 districts. Needs are endless, possibilities are limited. We will work hard to meet endless needs. Mr. Osman Gürün is doing his part to protect our Muğla from looting and plunder. We are pondering over issues such as which forest area was allocated to tourism facilities and which forest area was given an EIA decision. We will continue our struggle to protect our water, our right to life, and our nature. We know well the mining exploration licenses given in forests. We know very well the intentions of those who are candidates for Muğla today. This is Muğla, no such plunder. We do not surrender these ancient lands so easily. Please do not sell our ancestral lands, let's protect them." said.

President Gürün; “When we think of Muğla as a house, we went through a difficult renovation while sitting in our house.”

Speaking at the opening of Turgutreis Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, the largest treatment facility in Bodrum, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Osman Gürün said that infrastructure is one of the riskiest services for a mayor and that they are proud and happy to initiate and complete a major infrastructure investment in Muğla by taking all the risks.

President Gürün; “I am very pleased that this adventure, which started in 2014, has concluded this way. Infrastructure projects are a big risk for mayors, and we received some complaints during this process. Bad roads, like potholes. We apologize for leaving Bodrum in dust and smoke, but we had no other choice. However, while we were living in the house, we entered into a heavy renovation. We changed all the electrical and plumbing systems in the house. There will be dust and dust while doing this, but it has to be done. Since these services could not be provided until now, we had to do this. There is no such thing as stopping the service. We will serve until the last day. Turgutreis in Bodrum is a very important investment, but there are other facilities as well. We renewed Gümbet-Gümüşlük wastewater treatment facilities and increased their capacity. Next term, Mayor Ahmet will build a new transmission line and green area irrigation will be done here. This is a huge savings. We design all our facilities to carry out advanced biological treatment.

The choice of DSI lines that constantly explode in our basement, lines with missing equipment and incorrectly constructed lines. Lines that are not resistant to pressure. There were over 3 thousand eruptions. We are paying for the defective goods and as a result of the lawsuit, they stopped taking it. We renewed some lines at these points and the bursts here dropped to 10 percent. DSI was alarmed due to the end of water in the dams. We cannot touch GRP pipes, but we are trying to reduce bursts with pressure regulations in the current system. We are making an investment exceeding 150 million TL. We will offer this service to you until the summer.

“THE LOANS WE PROVIDED FOR MUĞLA HAVE BEEN PENDING FOR APPROVAL SINCE 2020”

We prepared a project and applied for a loan of 230 million Euros from the French development agency. All of them have been examined by experts. For our credit status, we received the highest rating of AAA from the international credit agency FITCH. We are standing tall with our financial structure. We wanted to renew the water infrastructure with 63,5 million EURO of the loan provided. Instead of repairing the burst, we decided to build a new line. However, for the loan to be used, the Presidency had to sign it as appropriate, but unfortunately it was not done. We have been waiting since December 2020. Those who are candidates in the local elections with the same mentality have made a statement that no infrastructure has been built in Muğla, which I consider as a lack of information and leave it to the free will of our citizens. We will continue to work for Muğla and add value to this city, which is special with its culture, history and unique beauties.” said.

THE TREATMENT FACILITY WAS BUILT FOR A POPULATION OF 250 THOUSAND

In Bodrum, one of the most important tourism centers of Turkey, the Turgutreis Advanced Biological Treatment facility, the largest treatment facility in Bodrum, the construction of which was started by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in 2021, was completed and started to serve. The treatment facility, which will cater to a population of 250 thousand, will serve Turgutreis District, Akyarlar, Dereköy, Peksimet, İslamhaneleri, Bahçelievler, Karabağ and Akçaalan neighbourhoods, and the 110 km sewer line will be connected to Turgutreis Wastewater Treatment Plant. Turgutreis Advanced Biological Treatment Facility cost 469 million 417 thousand 388 TL at the current exchange rate.
