Samsun Metropolitan Municipality collects the leftover food from places such as hospitals, restaurants, universities and schools and processes it in the Food Production Facility within the Weak Stray Animal Care Center. These meals collected before the process are checked in food laboratories at certain intervals to see whether they contain the necessary nutrients for stray animals. The food prepared in the facility, where an average of 500-550 kilograms of food is produced daily, is given to the dogs, cats and stray animals in the center. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Affairs Branch Manager Savaş Kasap stated that all the needs and care of the animals in the Weak Stray Animal Care Center are met with a meticulous work and said, “We have a Food Processing Facility within our center. We feed our dear friends with the leftover food we collect from 7-8 points in our city, hospitals, military units and factories. After going through a certain process, we give these leftover meals to the cats and dogs staying at our center. Protein sources, bone broth and carbohydrate sources are combined in the foods. "Many carbohydrate sources such as bran, bread and pasta are used," he said.
