A Meaningful Visit on the First Anniversary of the Earthquake

Bodrum Municipality Support Services Directorate removed a bus from Bodrum on Monday, February 5th and went to Hatay Arsuz. During the visit made by citizens, municipal personnel and Muğla 911 Search and Rescue Teams, condolences were expressed to the people of the region for the February 6 earthquake.

The team arrived in Arsuz on the morning of February 6 and delivered the necessary materials brought from Bodrum to Hatay-Arsuz Brotherhood City. The team met with citizens living in the container city and received information about their living conditions.

Bodrum team also participated in the February 6 Earthquake Victims Commemoration Program held at Arsuz District Governorate. Speaking at the ceremony, Arsuz District Governor Hacı Hasan Gökpınar thanked Bodrum for its support and said, “Especially Bodrum Municipality started with search and rescue from the first moment of the earthquake. He helped us with logistics and staff until mid-July. "I would like to thank the mayor, employees and all the people of Bodrum," he said.

Hatay-Arsuz Brotherhood City was established as a tent city by Bodrum Municipality after the earthquake disaster of February 6, 2023. Afterwards, 290 earthquake victims continue to live in 800 containers in the area, which was transformed into a container city so that citizens can live in better conditions.
