Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that the "HEROES-50" Operation carried out in Lice district of Diyarbakır province was concluded successfully. Stating that 2 terrorists were neutralized within the scope of the operation, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue with determination with the support and prayers of the public.
Stating that the operation was carried out jointly by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the MİT Presidency, our Minister stated that the terrorists were neutralized with their weapons, and 2 suspects who aided and abetted the terrorists were detained.
Sharing the details about the terrorists' actions, our Minister Mr. Yerlikaya stated that Hasip Şimşek, one of the targets of the operation, took part in the attack on the Elazığ Police Department with a bomb-laden vehicle and caused the martyrdom of many innocents. He also stated that the terrorist named Mehmet Akalan committed various acts of sabotage in Diyarbakır.
Our Minister, Mr. Yerlikaya, congratulated the MİT members and gendarmerie units who contributed to the successful completion of the operation, and emphasized that the fight will continue with determination until the last of the terrorists is neutralized.
