Bursa Mark on Heimtextil

Heimtextil Fair, which opened its doors in Frankfurt on January 9, hosted representatives of the home textile industry.

At the fair, participating companies, especially from China and India, presented their new products to the visitors. More than 50 companies from Bursa participated in the fair with the organization of KFA Fuarcılık, a subsidiary of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO).

BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim Burkay said that Turkey has significant production experience in the textile industry. Stating that the home textile sector, in particular, has achieved exports approaching 5 billion dollars and an average export value per kilogram exceeding 8 dollars, İbrahim Burkay stated that the sector representatives continue to represent Turkey in the best way in the world with their production capabilities and export success. Stating that more than 50 companies took part in the fair with the organization of KFA Fuarcılık, President Burkay said that Turkish companies came to the fore at the fair with their products combining design and quality. Reminding that under the leadership of BTSO, they have implemented many exemplary works that prepare the sector for the competition on a global scale, from value-added production to overseas job fair organizations, from digital and green transformation-oriented projects to purchasing delegations, İbrahim Burkay said that the HOMETEX Fair, organized for the home textile industry in the organization of KFA Fuarcılık in cooperation with TETSİAD, He also noted that it added strength to the sector.

Uludağ Textile Exporters Association and TETSİAD Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Ufuk Oçak emphasized that they will never give up the fight against the difficulties experienced in the textile industry.

In his speech, Oçak stated that colleagues both from Bursa and across the country continue their struggle while exhibiting their products. He said, "The third and even fourth generations have started to take over the business in Turkish textile." He said, "Our industry has a very serious knowledge. We can make large value-added products. We can use high technology. We closely follow innovations in raw materials, machinery and knowledge. Turkish textile has a structure that will move forward, not backward, with this knowledge and talent pool. We have a motto, 'If Bursa Grows, Turkey Grows.' We will continue to contribute to the goals of Bursa and our country by growing our business." Ufuk Oçak also touched upon the importance of HOMETEX for Turkish home textiles and said, “We exhibit our success and real power at HOMETEX. Our sector representatives have already started preparations for the fair that we will organize in Istanbul between 21-25 May. For us, HOMETEX has become the number one fair in the world.” he said.

Minteks company partner and General Manager İhsan İrman, in his evaluation of the fair, said that they saw an appetite among buyers after the stagnation we experienced during the pandemic period.

Meanwhile, Frankfurt Consul General Erdem Tunçer visited the stands of Turkish companies at the fair.
