'Green Transformation' Message from KAYSO

A promotional and information meeting was held for the 450 million dollar "Turkey Green Industry Project", which was initiated under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology with the support of the World Bank.

At Kayseri Chamber of Industry, Ministry of Industry and Technology General Directorate of Industry Deputy General Manager Dr. Industrialists showed great interest in the meeting held with the participation of Ali Murat Akşam, KOSGEB President Ahmet Serdar İbrahimcioğlu and TEYDEB Vice President Alp Eren Yurtseven.

Making the opening speech of the meeting, Kayseri Chamber of Industry (KAYSO) Chairman Mehmet Büyüksimitci stated that the Border Carbon Regulation Mechanism will be fully activated on January 1, 2026 and said, “This regulation will directly affect companies exporting to the EU. One of the provinces that will be most affected by the regulation will be Kayseri. Because we are a province that exports half of our exports to EU countries. "For this reason, we need to quickly prepare our companies for this transformation," he said.

Stating that they found the 450 million dollar Turkey Green Industry Project support, carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TUBITAK and KOSGEB, with the support of the World Bank, very valuable, Mayor Büyüksimitci said, “The majority of our members are SMEs. Therefore, we have a potential beneficiary audience for the support from both KOSGEB and TUBITAK legs of the project. "As the Chamber, we are ready to provide all the support we can to our members in this process," he said.

TEYDEB Vice President Alp Eren Yurtseven stated that the green transformation process contains many opportunities and said, “However, in this process, we need to run fast and strive just to preserve where we are. The 450 million dollar support provided by our ministry with the support of the World Bank will contribute to your efforts. This is a serious resource in the changing business environment. "Our biggest goal is for our industrialists to benefit from this resource at the highest level," he said.

Ministry of Industry and Technology General Directorate of Industry Deputy General Manager Dr. Ali Murat Akşam stated that the Turkey Green Industry Project, supported by 450 million dollars, will last for 6 years and said, “This project will also encourage economic growth. We are making great efforts with all our stakeholders to quickly implement this project, which will pave the way for sustainable competitiveness through green transformation for the Turkish industry. "We continue our efforts to find resources from international financial institutions under favorable conditions to make them available to our industrialists," he said.

Finally, KOSGEB President Ahmet Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, who came to the podium to make his speech, invited industrialists to benefit from the support provided within the scope of the Turkey Green Industry Project and said, "A foreign source financing of 450 million dollars has been brought to Turkey. If we look at it from KOSGEB's side, 160 million dollars of this financing will be used in projects such as solar power plant and 90 million dollars in energy efficiency. The transformation of our industry on the cyclical side is very important for us. Focusing on this aspect will strengthen our industry and exports. "We are ready to provide consultancy to you on this issue together with our team members," he said.

In the last part of the meeting, detailed information about the project was given to the participants by TÜBİTAK and KOSGEB experts.
