The second "Datathon" event was held by Konya Metropolitan Municipality with the slogan "Data Solutions Carrying the City to the Future". 50 participants from Konya and different cities attended the Datathon event, which was organized at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Capsule Technology Platform Zindankale Campus with the aim of shaping the future of the city based on data expertise and equipping it with innovative projects. More than XNUMX competitors participated. At the event, rich data sets provided from Konya Open Data Portal offered participants the opportunity to develop innovative projects in various areas in the city. In the competition, participants used the data sources in Konya Metropolitan Municipality's Open Data Portal in the city; It was aimed to develop solution projects in important areas such as sustainability, transportation, environment, education, culture, agriculture, tourism, Zero Waste and to make Konya more livable and accessible with data-based solutions.
Following the presentation about Konya's work in the field of data and open data, the contestants were informed about the rules and evaluation criteria of the competition and worked on developing and analyzing project ideas. Participants developed innovative projects using up-to-date tools in the field of data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies for 36 hours. Participants worked at an intense pace throughout the Datathon and completed their projects with the support of mentors who are experts in their fields. Following the project presentations, the participants who were ranked as a result of the jury's evaluation were rewarded. Datathon, which has become a tradition since the launch of the Konya Open Data Portal, once again emphasizes the importance of open data use and introduces many innovative solutions to increase service efficiency in the city and the quality of life of city residents. Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which is working to create a wide ecosystem in Konya regarding Open Data; It transparently publishes the data-based innovative solutions of large masses and the data requests they need, through awareness activities such as surveys, trainings, conferences and competitions, on the Open Data Portal.
