Praise from President Erdoğan to TİSK

President Erdoğan spoke at TİSK's Joint Sharing Forum.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made economic evaluations at the Joint Sharing Forum organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employers' Associations (TİSK) at Çırağan Palace with the theme "Working Life in the 100th Anniversary of our Republic".

Thanking the President and Board of Directors of TİSK for organizing the forum, President Erdoğan said, “TİSK has been performing an important duty as the representative of employers in our country throughout its history of more than 60 years. The Confederation is one of the three main actors of our working life, consisting of the public, employees and employers. TISK, which protects the law and interests of our employers in many local and international platforms, also plays key roles in ensuring labor peace in our country. “Our confederation, with 21 member employer unions operating in various sectors of the economy and industry, including the public service, has become one of the locomotive structures of our economy.” he said.

President Erdoğan said that approximately 2 million people work in workplaces registered to employers who are members of TİSK and they take bread to their homes.

“TISK EXHIBITED A CONSTRUCTIVE ATTITUDE IN MINIMUM WAGE NEGOTIATIONS”

Emphasizing that the employees and businesses represented by the Confederation contribute 200 billion dollars to the country's national income and 100 billion dollars to its exports, President Erdoğan congratulated the employers who support Turkey's development struggle by providing employment, producing and exporting.

President Erdoğan thanked TİSK members who contributed to the record-breaking exports of 256, reaching 2023 billion dollars, and said:

“We consider this historical record we broke in exports very valuable, despite the hot conflicts, crises in our region and the increasing uncertainty in the global economy. With your support, Turkey has taken firm steps towards its goal of quality growth through investment, employment, production, exports and current account surplus. TİSK also displayed a very constructive attitude in the minimum wage negotiations. The negotiations were conducted in a rational framework, taking into account the conditions of our country and the needs of our employees and employers. “I hope that the minimum wage for 49, set at 17 thousand 2 liras with an increase of 2024 percent, will be beneficial to all our employers as well as our employees.”

“WE HAVE FULFILLED THE PROMISE NOT TO SUBJECT WORKERS TO INFLATION WITH THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE”

President Erdoğan stated that they have once again fulfilled their promise not to subject employees to inflation with the new minimum wage, and reminded that they have abolished income and stamp taxes from the minimum wage in 2022 in order to both ease the burden of employers and increase the income of workers.
