The Center of Walnuts Will Be Denizli

WMA President İbrahim Tefenlili stated that they had to import walnuts and almonds from abroad before the project started in 2017. Noting that the number of saplings distributed this year will be 536 thousand, Tefenlili said, “Denizli should now be a city known for its walnuts. "We are the first in the number of saplings planted, hopefully we will be the first in Turkey in terms of product in a few years," he said. Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Çınar, stated that walnut is a very healthy fruit and said, “From the beginning of the project, our aim was to make Turkey a walnut garden. "I would like to thank our Metropolitan Mayor Osman Zolan, who supported us not only in this but also in dozens of our projects," he said. Pamukkale Mayor Avni Örki stated that they have an exemplary cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and said, “We have undertaken many beautiful projects to make our nation smile within the brother-sister relationship. "I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project we are involved in," he said.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan stated that, as the Metropolitan Municipality, they support rural development projects in more than 50 items. Mayor Zolan said, “We worked day and night wherever there was a need. You have always been by our side. It makes us happy to support your production. "We need to produce more and with higher quality, and we support you in this effort," he said. Stating that he was born in the village and knows the difficulties of farming, Mayor Zolan said, “I am one of those who know best that you are producing under difficult conditions and trying to survive. We supported our farmers whatever they needed. "We will continue on our way with the same understanding," he said. Stating that they have distributed 7 thousand walnut saplings to 500 thousand 475 farmers with the project so far, Mayor Zolan noted that the total number of saplings reached 536 thousand this year.

This year, 748 thousand walnut saplings will be distributed to 61 producers.

Stating that they will distribute approximately 2024 thousand walnut saplings to 18 producers in 748 districts for 61, Mayor Zolan said: “Let the saplings we plant become beautiful trees and yield fruitful crops. Hopefully, after a few years, Denizli will be the city producing the most walnuts in Turkey. Just as we became number 1 in the world in thyme, Denizli will also be number XNUMX in walnuts. “We are striving for this.” After the speeches, Mayor Osman Zolan and his entourage delivered walnut saplings to the producers.
