Adulteration Warning from Bursa Food Industrialists!

Coşkun Dönmez, President of Bursa Food Manufacturers Association, whose short name is BUYSAD, said that state support is very important to combat adulterated products that pose a great threat to public health.

Mayor Dönmez requested that companies that do not have an "industrial food production" operating license should be inspected more closely and that bulk meals should not be purchased from businesses that do not have this license.

Coşkun Dönmez stated that taking precautions before dangers or defects occur is much easier and risk-free than solving the problems that arise because they are not taken, and warned that the studies concerning public health should be supported unconditionally by the state and businesses that consume mass meals should be careful.

WHY IS 'INDUSTRIAL FOOD LICENSE' IMPORTANT

Mayor Dönmez pointed out that all businesses that do not have an "industrial food production" operating license are "under-the-radar" businesses and said, "Because there are rules that businesses that have an 'industrial food production' license must comply with. There are documents they need to obtain. The standards to be followed in the foods, detergents and other cleaning materials and packaging used are determined by laws and regulations. It is mandatory to comply with a number of hygiene and sanitation rules during the production stages and transportation. All personnel are subject to training. "In summary, businesses that have this license are inspected at every stage from farm to table, with or without notice, while other businesses are not inspected," he said.

Dönmez warns those who prefer to buy table d'hôte food just because it is cheap from some restaurants that undertake the business of producing mass meals but have no control over them, saying, “This is very risky. Because they are not subject to any control. They produce in inappropriate conditions and transport food in inappropriate packaging and under inappropriate conditions. There is also a risk of adulteration in the food raw materials they use. We come across news in the media almost every day about people being poisoned by mass consumed foods. Some cases even result in death. That's why we say; Never buy bulk meals from places that do not have a business license as an industrial food business. Otherwise, the health of you and your employees may be harmed.” said.

Coşkun Dönmez also warned that those who have even the slightest doubt about the menus they purchased should have these menus analyzed by accredited institutions.

Dönmez said that BUYSAD organized a series of trainings, seminars and informative meetings to draw attention to food safety in Bursa and to ensure that consumers have access to safe food, and asked consumers to shop consciously and pay attention to their health.
