Today, we are adding a new one to our services by opening the new Fitness Center in our Tınaztepe Campus, which is named after our national athlete Sinan Şamil Sam, who left a great mark on Turkish sports history. This center offers a very high level of fitness, which is available to our students and academic staff with its modern design and comprehensive equipment. A nice sports facility. As the Rectorate, we make such investments not only in physical areas; At the same time, we see it as important for our young people and academics to have a more vibrant university environment. Because scientific research shows that regular exercise is effective in relieving health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression. "We cannot end by counting the benefits of sports here," he said.

“SPORT TEACHES US NOT TO GIVE UP”

Pointing out that sports teach people to act within the rules, to set goals and achieve them, and not to give up, Rector Hotar said, "These are the qualities we need most in our student life, academic life and business life." Hotar continued his words as follows: “Our university; It operates as a truly city university with 10 different campuses located in a wide geography stretching from Selçuk to Bergama, from Urla to Kiraz. While this situation provides us with great advantages, it of course also brings some difficulties. Our top priority is to meet the educational and social needs of our 70 thousand students and to allocate resources equally and fairly to each of our campuses. As DEU, we have a large sports ecosystem. There are currently 5 indoor sports halls, 2 football fields, 2 outdoor tennis courts, 2 indoor dance halls and 3 fitness centers with equipment on our university campuses. Today, we are adding a new one to these. Not only from our Faculty of Sports Sciences; "Our athlete students from almost every unit make the most of these opportunities with the clubs they establish."
