Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, together with the Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar and the MPs, examined the works of the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building, which is counting the days for the opening and is aimed to serve 8 million passengers.
Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building and Apron, the construction of which is carried out by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and whose work is nearing completion, is counting the days for its opening.
In this context, Mayor Büyükkılıç, together with Grand National Assembly of Turkey National Defense Commission Chairman Hulusi Akar, AK Party Kayseri Provincial Chairman Fatih Üzüm, Members of Parliament Ayşe Böhürler, Şaban Çopuroğlu, Murat Cahid Cıngı and Mr. Bayar Özsoy, inspected the New Terminal Building, which is just a few days away from opening.
Akar, Büyükkılıç and the accompanying delegation received information from the contractor company officials about the progress of the works and project details.
AKAR PRAISES KAYSERİ MUNICIPALITY
Stating that they are extremely happy to be able to reach this point, Grand National Assembly of Turkey National Defense Commission Chairman and AK Party Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar said, “We thank God. As you know, the investment policy regarding Kayseri has been continuing at a great pace for years. Very serious investments have been made in health, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, irrigation and education. Investments in sports, especially our Ministry of Youth and Sports, have been made. If you say municipality, it is really Kayseri municipality, especially since 94, great important works have been created, realized, put into the service of our people and this process continues,” he said, adding that a large number of ministries, governorships, municipalities and directorates have been formed under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the path to a great and strong Turkey. He stated that they continue to serve with love.
Noting that the New Airport Terminal Building is a source of pride for Kayseri and a great gain for the region, Akar said, “We will see the benefits of this very clearly in the coming years. Here, a great deal of convenience and opportunity will be provided for travel to and from Kayseri and our region, tourism, industry, other social activities, scientific studies and everything we can think of. Arrivals and departures from within the country and abroad will be at a much higher level. He thanked all the ministers, members of parliament and officials who contributed, saying, "An extremely modern, extremely healthy construction has been completed."
Emphasizing that this is an extremely busy airport, Akar shared that the New Airport Terminal Building has expanded from 58 thousand square meters to 90 thousand square meters, making it an extremely modern, convenient and highly public airport.

Hopefully, the facility in question will be put into service soon. Final preparations regarding this are being made. We will give you the good news about it as soon as possible. The service policy continues. Our mayors and deputies continue to produce projects on these issues. We have done, are doing and will do whatever needs to be done to make both Kayseri and our region more modern, more useful and more people-oriented. No one should doubt this either. Hopefully, we will continue to serve our people with much more important and larger projects in the coming period.”
Stating that the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building and Apron Construction Project will suit Kayseri, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, "I hope that the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building, which will provide modern and comfortable service to our passengers, will be beneficial to our city."
