Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's free Sports Schools have a very important place in Kocaeli, the Capital of Sports, in order to raise healthy generations.
DIRECTING CHILDREN AND YOUTH TO SPORTS
In 12 districts within the scope of the Metropolitan's free Sports Schools, which aim to direct children and young people to sports, to create a source of athletes for sports clubs and to contribute to the formation of sports culture in the society; Service continued to be provided in 9 in a total of 2023 branches: athletics, badminton, basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, table tennis, chess, volleyball and swimming. As of 2023, a total of 128 thousand 180 students were served in 10 sports facilities with 34 expert coaches, 766 thousand in summer sports schools and 44 thousand 766 students in winter. On the other hand, the Metropolitan's winter sports schools; It continues with the participation of 4 instructors and 1 thousand 77 students in a total of 14 facilities, including 96 Information Centers, 110 pool, 33 schools and 936 gyms.

SCIENTIFIC AND PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
The physical and performance developments of little athletes are monitored through periodic scientific tests and measurements to determine the physical fitness of children. In line with the results obtained, little athletes are directed to appropriate training groups or other sports branches. In addition, children and their families are provided with accurate information and healthy guidance through awareness-raising seminars held for students and their parents during the term.
