Ata Party Chairman Zeybek Demanded AK Party to be Closed

ATA Party Chairman Namık Kemal Zeybek, who went to the Supreme Court building in Çankaya Ahlatlıbel with the members of the Founding Board of his party, made a press statement in front of the Supreme Court building. Stating that the AK Party has moved from 'rhetoric to action' in anti-secular actions, Zeybek said:

“HALF OF THE STATE AID RECEIVED BY AK PARTY IN 2008 WAS CUT”

When the AK Party was founded, its Chairman said, "We are a political party with Islamic references." In addition, he honestly laid out the path he would follow by saying, "For us, democracy is a tram that we will get off of when the goal is achieved." When we brought these two together, such a party could not be established according to our constitution.

This is why the AK Party, which has highlighted religious references in all its actions since the day they came to power, was tried for 'becoming the focus of actions contrary to the principles of the Democratic and Secular Republic' in the fourth paragraph of Article 68 of our Constitution. On 30.07.2008, while 6 members of the Constitutional Court took a stance in favor of closing down the AK Party and 4 members in favor of depriving it of State Aid, the President of the Constitutional Court of that day, Haşim Kılıç, also voted to "reject the case".

However, even though political parties could not be closed down because the qualified majority stipulated in the first paragraph of Article 149 of the Constitution was not achieved; In accordance with the second paragraph of Article 2820 of the Political Parties Law No. 101, it was decided that the AK Party would be deprived of half of the State Aid Amount it received in 2008.

“AGAINST SECULARISM, THEY SWITCHED FROM TALK TO ACTION”

Despite the passage of time, the ruling party did not give up this behavior. On the contrary, they have now moved from rhetoric to action. Erdoğan used the words "Women and men cannot be equal" at the Democratic Initiative meetings. Regarding the alcohol ban, he said, "The law made by two drunkards is valid, but why should you reject a law ordered by religion?" Regarding the fight against interest, he was able to say, "Since the Nass is clear, what happens to you and me?" He made overtime arrangements for Friday prayers and gave the muftis the duty to solemnize official marriages. Within the framework of the ÇEDES (I am sensitive to my environment, I protect my values) project, he did not hesitate to appoint imams to schools affiliated with National Education, especially kindergartens. The current Minister of National Education was able to say in the Turkish Grand National Assembly: "We will continue to make protocols with the structures that you call sects and communities, and we call NGOs." At the closing of the "6th Religious Council" organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, Erdoğan was able to say, "Islam is not for us, we will act according to Islam." The Presidency of Religious Affairs was able to put forward the idea that "A woman's work is subject to her husband's permission" in a book it published. Bülent Arınç, one of the founders of the AK Party, was able to evaluate in Bitlis Güroymak, "It is not secularism, but Islam that makes us brothers." Former Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker İsmail Kahraman said, “Secularism should not be included in the new constitution. Our constitution should not avoid religion. We are an Islamic country. For this reason, he had the courage to say, "We must make a religious constitution." Although İsmet Yılmaz, who held two important ministerial positions in this country, said, "Vote for the AK Party and go to heaven," it gives us chills to know that the AK Party is trying to prevent "the closure of parties due to anti-secular actions" in its new constitutional studies.
The AK Party, which openly calls for "Sharia" and remains silent against marginal groups, has revealed its true intentions. It should be closed for the reasons we have mentioned.
