Historical Akdamar Island, illuminated with the works carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Van Governorship and Metropolitan Municipality, has gained a brand new appearance. Illuminated by Solar Energy System (SPP), the Island shines with its new appearance.

Renovation works in historical places in Van continue. Finally, Akdamar Island and Akdamar Church, one of the important tourism points of the city, were illuminated. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List and was built as a palace church in A.D. Akdamar Church, built between 915-921, attracts attention with both its architecture and decorations.

The lighting works on Akdamar Island, which has a historical church and is visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year, have been completed. Following the historical Van Castle, which recently gained its new appearance, Akdamar Island, which was illuminated with Solar Energy System (SPP), was also highly appreciated with its new appearance.

The Historical Island, whose landscaping has been carried out and its deformed roads have been corrected, awaits its visitors with its new image.
