President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan introduced the mayoral candidates of Istanbul districts in the Local Administrations and Local Government elections to be held on March 31. AK Party, which announced Murat Kurum's candidacy for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor at the meeting on January 7, announced to the public the candidates for all metropolitan and provincial municipalities, including Ankara and Izmir, on January 18.

President Erdoğan stated that they introduced the candidates to the public gradually and said that they continued the district promotions, which they started with Yalova yesterday, with Istanbul today. Erdoğan noted that their goal is to complete the promotion of district candidates as soon as possible.
ISTANBUL'S LONGING WILL END
Stating that Istanbul will be rid of those it does not deserve on March 31, President Erdoğan said, “Istanbul's longing will end. Our duty is to do our job properly, anytime and anywhere. Reminding that there are 70 days left until the elections, President Erdoğan also blamed the opposition in his speech.
President Erdoğan, who later invited AK Party Headquarters executives and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate Murat Kurum and Istanbul Provincial Mayor Osman Nuri Kabaktepe to the stage, announced Istanbul's 39 district mayoral candidates one by one.
