Snow combat teams within the Road Maintenance and Infrastructure Coordination Department (YOLBAK) quickly took precautions against the snowfall that is effective in high areas.

As the rain increased at night, the teams became vigilant, switched to a 24-hour watch system with all their personnel, started to flow information from all over Sakarya, and responded to notices immediately.

In this context, work started from the first moment in 2 neighborhoods where the snowfall, which has been continuing for about 50 days without interruption, affected daily life and the snow thickness exceeded 32 centimeters. According to the first report, salting and snow shoveling works have continued uninterruptedly since the night in Taraklı, Akyazı, Geyve, Hendek and Kocaali districts.

32 GROUP ROADS OPENED TO TRANSPORTATION

The teams are making intense efforts to ensure that the roads remain open at critical points and to prevent icing. In this context, group roads were opened in 24 neighborhoods where transportation disruptions occurred due to heavy snowfall in the last 32 hours.
