103 Million TL Fine from Trade for Exorbitant Prices

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, it was noted that a total administrative fine of 103 million 160 thousand 995 TL was imposed by the Unfair Price Assessment Board on businesses that were found to engage in practices that disrupt market functioning and free competition with exorbitant price increases and hoarding, and cause consumers to suffer.

It was stated that the violations detected during the inspections of the businesses selling bread in violation of the tariff were discussed at the Unfair Price Evaluation Meeting and an administrative fine of 55 million 869 thousand 477 TL was imposed on the businesses selling bread above the determined price tariff.

Regarding the automotive sector, it was stated that a total administrative fine of 8 million 27 thousand 82 TL was decided against 889 enterprises that were evaluated to have engaged in activities that created a shortage in the market, disrupted market balance and free competition, and prevented consumers from accessing the goods, while 20 ready-mixed concrete and It was noted that an administrative fine of 4 million 969 thousand 335 TL was imposed on the cement producer business due to the exorbitant price increase.

In its statement, the Ministry emphasized that it will continue to take necessary administrative measures against those who engage in unfair commercial practices and actions.
