Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate, “81. It celebrated its "Foundation Anniversary" with various events. Speaking at the celebration program, which started with a video narration showing EGO's activities, EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş said, “Since the day we took office, we have added many firsts worthy of EGO's history. "We have been adopting and supporting innovative, people-oriented and environmentally friendly transportation policies since the first day," he said.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate celebrated its 81st anniversary.
Held at the Metropolitan Municipality Conference Hall, "81st. EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, Association of Turkish City Councils and Ankara City Council President Halil İbrahim Yılmaz, bureaucrats and EGO staff attended the "Anniversary of Establishment" celebration program.
“WE ADDED MANY FIRS IN A WAY BECOMING THE HISTORY OF EGO”
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş said the following in the opening speech of the event:
“Today, our organization serves as the public authority responsible for public transportation in Ankara with tire and rail system enterprises and alternative transportation modes. Privatization of natural gas also contains a big wish. I wish it wasn't privatized. Because if we had natural gas now, EGO would not receive support from our Metropolitan Municipality, on the contrary, it would contribute to the budget of our Municipality. EGO works with people over the age of 65, disabled people, relatives of martyrs and veterans, students, teachers, etc. In addition to being able to fulfill the requirements of social municipality such as free or discounted transportation for groups, it would also have the equity sufficient to build a metro line in every period with the budget surplus it provides. EGO STAFF SHARED THEIR PROFESSIONAL MEMORIES
While the zeybek show of FOMGET Folk Dance Group was highly appreciated during the celebrations, the episode in which EGO was explained in the program 'Ne Var Ne Yok Ankara' broadcast on ABB TV with the presentation of Elif Akaydın Özkan was watched with interest. A conversation titled "EGO with Memories" was held with the participation of personnel working in units affiliated with EGO. In the interview, the staff shared their professional memories about EGO. EGO General Directorate also brought the 1987 model old municipal bus in front of the Metropolitan Municipality and gave its employees a nostalgic journey.
The celebration program ended with the presentation of plaques to retired personnel, a souvenir photo shoot, a mini concert by the City Orchestra and a reception.
