According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul hosted 1 million 288 thousand 610 foreign visitors in November.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, the highest number of foreign visitors entering Istanbul in November was the Russian Federation with 135 thousand 696 people, Germany was second with 89 thousand 810 people, Iran was third with 88 thousand 727 people, and the USA was fourth with 61 thousand 566 people. The United States was followed by England (United Kingdom) with 51 thousand 371 people, Saudi Arabia with 48 thousand 403 people and France with 43 thousand 442 people.
Among the Arab countries, Saudi Arabia ranked first, Iraq ranked second, Algeria ranked third, and Morocco ranked fourth among the foreign visitors who came to Istanbul in November. Morocco was followed by Libya, Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia, respectively.
First choice Istanbul airport
Istanbul Airport was the first choice of foreign visitors coming to Istanbul in November.
Istanbul Airport, which hosted 11 million 11 thousand 258 foreigners in 531 months of the year, was preferred by 905 thousand 90 foreigners in November. The share of Istanbul Airport in the total number of foreign visitors arriving in Istanbul by air in November was 72,67 percent.
While 11 million 4 thousand 384 foreigners entered from Sabiha Gökçen Airport in 636 months, this number was 339 thousand 9 in November. While Sabiha Gökçen Airport was the second border gate through which the most foreign visitors entered, it constituted 27,22 percent of foreigners entering Istanbul by air.
The number of foreign visitors coming to Istanbul by air in November was 1 million 245 thousand 518.
The number of foreigners coming to Istanbul by sea last month was 43 thousand 92 in November.

According to the latest accommodation statistics published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visits to Ministry-certified facilities was 1 million 224 thousand 16 in October this year.
While a total of 2 million 711 thousand 678 overnight stays were made in these facilities, the average length of stay was 2,22 days.
The occupancy rate of accommodation facilities in Istanbul in October was 56,78 percent.
