According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) data, a 28 magnitude earthquake occurred on December 2023, 13 at 57:4.6, with the epicenter in Battalgazi district of Malatya. The depth of the earthquake was measured as 6.9 kilometers.
The earthquake was also felt in surrounding provinces. It was reported that there were no negative reports regarding the earthquake felt in Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa and Tunceli.
AFAD teams started investigations in the region after the earthquake.
